Property Controller

Västfastigheter Bygg och Förvaltning carries out new and renovation work on the premises of the Västra Götaland Region.

We participate in feasibility studies prior to projects and are responsible for program and system documents, design, and implementation. Our clients are primarily within healthcare but also in the cultural sector, at folk high schools, agricultural high schools, and travel centers, bus and train depots throughout the Västra Götaland Region. The Regional Governance unit is organizationally under the Strategic Projects property functions area. The unit is responsible for coordinating region-wide strategic issues and currently consists of 21 employees.

Job Description

As a Property Controller, you play a key role in Västfastigheter's regional governance of reinvestment and maintenance funds. You are responsible for the overall planning, prioritization, preparation, and follow-up of funds as well as forecasting and re-planning based on the needs of operations and the region's overall goals.

The work is conducted in a collaboration forum that you lead and are responsible for, where materials from the region's parts within the property area are coordinated. In your role, you ensure common priorities, follow up on decisions made, and are responsible for reporting and feedback to the management group and other relevant decision-making and preparation forums.

You also lead the annual work of developing the regional local supply plan, focusing on structure, wholeness, and long-term direction. The role involves close collaboration with the regional area's management group and other strategic functions. As a Property Controller, you may also be the project owner for designated regional projects and actively contribute to strategic development and coordination within both Västfastigheter and the Västra Götaland Region.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with a university or college degree in construction and property economics, community building, industrial economics, or other education that, combined with experience, is deemed equivalent. You have experience in strategic work within property operations, community building, or larger organizations, for example as a property manager, strategic property manager, controller, project owner, or equivalent. We see that you have experience in long-term planning, prioritization, and preparation of maintenance and/or investment issues and are accustomed to working in management and decision-making forums.

You have a very good ability to communicate in Swedish, both spoken and written, and are used to adapting messages according to the audience. You are accustomed to taking a leading role and driving work forward through good coordination, influence, and trust.

You are communicative and pedagogical, have an easy time creating dialogue, and are receptive to different perspectives. With a structured working method and good analytical ability, you can make well-considered priorities and contribute to anchored decisions in complex organizations.

If you also have experience from the public sector or another politically governed organization, experience as a project owner, or have overall responsibility for strategic or regional projects, including goal formulation, prioritization, and follow-up, this is meritorious.
