Environmental Inspector with a Focus on Health Protection

The Environmental and Health Protection Unit, with its 26 employees, operates under the Environmental and Building Permit Committee and is part of the Community Planning Administration.

Our goal is to be an efficient and legally secure authority that contributes to good food safety, a healthy environment, and sustainable development in the municipality.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an inspector, you will work both independently and in a team, which means you should easily collaborate with your colleagues and be able to drive your own projects.

We are now looking for an environmental inspector with a focus on health protection for a temporary position of about six months. The health protection group currently consists of five people. You will, among other things, conduct inspections at preschools, businesses with hygienic treatment, and temporary accommodations. You will also investigate housing complaints and handle radon cases. The tasks can be adjusted to some extent based on previous experience and the needs of the organization.

You will draft letters and decision documents and independently make decisions by delegation. As an inspector, you may represent the authority in various collaboration groups. You will also contribute to fulfilling the unit's inspection plan and conducting inspections so that the intentions of the legislation are met within promised processing times. You will be involved in the department's quality work. We use Ecos 2 as our case management system.

QUALIFICATIONS

A university degree in environmental and health protection or another equivalent education. Documented knowledge of environmental legislation is a requirement.

We believe you have the ability to plan, work independently, and base decisions on sound judgment and good legal practice. You should be structured and service-oriented. The inspection work requires a good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. Since it is important to build good relationships, your personal qualities are important to us. Good knowledge of the Office suite is required.
