Environmental Inspector at the Environmental and Health Protection Unit

The Environmental and Health Protection Unit, with its 26 employees, operates under the Environmental and Building Permit Board and is part of the Community Building Administration.

Our goal is to be an efficient and legally secure authority that contributes to good food safety, a healthy environment, and sustainable development in the municipality.

As an inspector, you will work both independently and in a team, which means you should be able to collaborate easily with your colleagues and also drive your own projects.

We are now looking for an environmental inspector focusing on environmental protection, a temporary position for about a year. The environmental protection group currently consists of ten people. Your main tasks will include supervising environmentally hazardous activities, reviewing annual reports, conducting sewage inspections, and handling heat pump cases. You will also respond to urgent matters such as environmental accidents - we all help each other here. The tasks can be adjusted to some extent based on previous experience and the needs of the organization.

You will draft correspondence and decision-making documents and independently make decisions by delegation. As an inspector, you may represent the authority in various collaboration groups. You will also contribute to fulfilling the unit's supervision plan and conduct inspections to ensure that the intentions of the legislation are met within promised processing times. You will be involved in the department's quality work. We use Ecos 2 as our case management system.

QUALIFICATIONS

A university degree in environmental and health protection or other equivalent education. Documented knowledge of environmental legislation is required. You need to have a B driver's license.

We believe that you have the ability to plan, work independently, and base decisions on sound judgment and good legal practice. You should be structured and service-oriented. The inspection work requires a good ability to express yourself well in speech and writing. Since it is important to create good relationships, your personal qualities are important to us. Good knowledge of the Office suite is required.
