Pediatric and adolescent medicine is part of the inpatient care area and is the county's specialist clinic for children and youth.

The department has approximately 210 employees and consists of wards 11 and 12 with a total of 29 beds, a specialist outpatient clinic, outpatient care, day care, the emergency department for children and youth, the physician unit, and a resource team.

The children's clinic is sometimes referred to as the little hospital in the big one, which can be explained by the fact that within our operations, we encounter most of the various specialties in healthcare, including medicine, surgery, orthopedics, oncology, emergency care, and intensive care. This highlights the vast and broad experience and knowledge we have to offer both patients and employees.

Pediatric and adolescent inpatient care is divided into teams based on medical area. Our dietitians have distributed the nutrition work among the teams, allowing for deepening knowledge in selected areas. The teams that include dietitians are: diabetes, gastroenterology, neonatal, oncology, cardiology, allergy, obesity, and nutrition (pediatric feeding disorder).

As a new dietitian with us, you will work with childhood obesity 30% of the time during your first year, as the dietitian currently in the team has a time-limited project position. The other teams will be distributed between you and your closest colleagues based on your interests, experiences, and wishes.

Competence development as needed, with particular priority within the teams where you as a dietitian have primary responsibility. Supervisor training worth 7.5 higher education credits. A health-promoting workplace and wellness benefits.

Your Tasks

As a dietitian with us, you will investigate, assess, and treat nutrition-related symptoms and diseases. Individualized nutrition treatment primarily occurs during individual visits. Within the children's clinic, we work with team visits where children and families meet several healthcare providers simultaneously. You will work closely with the existing dietitian in the pediatric inpatient care and together you will establish an effective working method. You will drive development work in your teams together with dietitian colleagues in pediatric medicine. The position includes lecture assignments.

As a dietitian in pediatric medicine, you will have close collaboration with other dietitians in your clinic as well as with dietitians in child psychiatry and child habilitation. Pediatric medicine is characterized by teamwork, and you will become part of a close-knit team where different professions collaborate beautifully. Based on the team-based working method, there are great opportunities for learning and growing within your profession.

Your Skills/Competencies

We are looking for a licensed dietitian with an interest in pediatric medicine. You place the child at the center of treatment and collaborate well with colleagues to achieve the best possible care. We believe that you as a person are proactive and flexible as planned outpatient visits are mixed with urgent visits to hospitalized children and their families. You have well-founded and clear values and the ability to think conceptually about issues from an ethical perspective.
