Torsby Hospital is an emergency hospital serving the municipalities in northern Värmland, namely Torsby, Sunne, Hagfors, and Munkfors.

The hospital has three wards where patients with surgical, orthopedic, and internal medical conditions can be treated. The hospital has outpatient services and also a mobile team. Surgery, endoscopy, recovery, and intensive care units, as well as an emergency department, are available. On-call services are provided in medicine, surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, and anesthesiology.

Your Responsibilities

As a specialist/consultant, you will participate in all aspects of the operation, including on-call duties, ward work, and outpatient services. After introduction and any necessary training, you will join the on-call line, which operates as standby at home during evenings/nights/weekends with daytime and weekend presence. You should be comfortable handling acutely ill patients with a wide range of internal medical conditions. In the outpatient clinic, there is an opportunity to focus more on certain patient groups, and the possibility for dual specialization exists. You should enjoy educating and supervising junior doctors and participating in quality improvement work.

Your Qualifications/Competencies

We are looking for a licensed physician with Swedish certification in specialist competence in internal medicine. You should have language skills in Swedish, at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale. Previous work experience in a hospital with internal medicine inpatient care, experience in on-call duties, and formal dual competence are advantageous.
