YOUR ROLE

As a nursing assistant, you will either work in a care and nursing home or in home care. Regardless of placement, you will support individuals in their daily lives with both care and practical assistance. This can involve everything from personal hygiene and transfers to creating a sense of security for the individual – around the clock.

You will work with a rehabilitative approach that encourages the individual's own abilities and contributes to a meaningful daily life. The role also includes documenting, planning, and coordinating efforts, as well as being a contact person for one or more individuals – which means you have a particularly important role in creating security and continuity based on the individual's needs. Everything is done in close collaboration with colleagues and other resource persons – because here we work mostly for others, but also for each other.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

You are a trained nursing assistant and can demonstrate a protected professional title or equivalent according to current regulations. You have very good knowledge of Swedish – you can read and absorb information, document, and communicate clearly both verbally and in writing based on the individual's needs.

It is important that you have sufficiently good physical conditions to manage the tasks that the job entails.

To thrive in the role, you need to be stable and secure in yourself – since you often meet individuals in vulnerable situations, it is crucial that you can instill calm, build trust, and be a safe point in their daily lives.

It is an advantage if you have experience working in care and nursing, especially with individuals who have cognitive diseases. If you can also speak Finnish, Sami, or sign language, we see it as an asset. In some workplaces, you may need a B driver's license and/or be able to cycle.

The position is subject to requirements for a background check according to law. Before a potential job offer, you must present an extract from the criminal record for work with elderly persons or persons with disabilities. You are responsible for ordering the correct extract from the Police Authority.

Here, you will be part of the social office's care and nursing department, which provides support to individuals throughout Skellefteå municipality.
