As Sales Manager Life Science – Food/Flavours at Algol Chemicals, you will be responsible for identifying and developing new national customers, nurturing existing relationships, and driving the entire sales process – from initial contact to closing and follow-up. Algol Chemicals is a producer and distributor providing a wide range of industrial and specialty chemicals as well as polymers for industrial production processes. Annually, we manage approximately 40,000 product deliveries and offer services to over 3,000 industrial companies in Finland, Scandinavia, the Baltics, Ukraine, and India.

Algol Chemicals is part of the Finnish Algol Group. In Scandinavia, we have both production and sales offices, and as a Sales Manager, you will be part of the Scandinavian sales organization based in our office in central Malmö.

Your mission as Sales Manager Flavours

As Sales Manager Flavours, you will be part of the Life Science segment at Algol Chemicals and responsible for identifying and developing new customers as well as nurturing existing customer relationships. The main focus is on proactive sales towards selected target markets, where you drive the entire sales process – from initial contact to closing and follow-up. You will report directly to our Team Leader and be a key player in the company’s continued growth journey.

You will work independently and set your action plan with goals and milestones. The work can preferably be performed from our office in Malmö or from your home office. You will also spend time with customers, which involves some travel, but you will plan this yourself.

The role includes:

  • Prospecting and initiating contact with new customers in the food industry.

  • Building and developing long-term customer relationships, focusing on R&D and purchasing teams.

  • Driving the entire sales process from the first meeting to contracts and delivery.

  • Collaborating with product development, supply planning, and quality to deliver customized flavor solutions.

  • Participating in industry fairs and events to strengthen Algol Chemicals' brand and network.

  • Contributing to the company’s expansion and development within the Food & Beverage segment.

  • Traveling within Scandinavia (and in some cases internationally) is a natural part of the job.

Who are you?

We believe you have experience from having worked in at least a couple of different sales roles and with B2B sales. To succeed in the role, we expect you to be goal-oriented, proactive, and able to build trust at all levels. As a person, you are solution-oriented and a relationship builder, thriving in an independent role with significant responsibility.

This is required for the role:

  • A chemical engineering degree, equivalent to a BSc, or documented several years of experience from the food industry.

  • Documented experience in B2B sales, preferably within flavors, ingredients, raw materials, or food technology.

  • Experience working with both existing and new customers.

  • Strong business drive and enjoy a role where you independently drive business from start to finish.

  • Understand customer needs and can act as an advisor in the development of new products.

  • Communicate fluently in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.

  • Relationship-building, solution-oriented, and able to create long-term value for customers.

Preferred:

  • Technical background in food or sensory science.

  • Network within the food industry and experience with product development projects.

What else? Since communication is crucial for the role, you must be fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing, and you must have a driver's license.
