Department of the Academic Children's Hospital
Small hearts need great care! We are a small hospital in the big picture, and it is precisely in the small that our greatness lies. Here, all the expertise a sick child may need is available, along with good collaboration, respect, and care. We offer a really good introduction for you who are new and many interesting opportunities for development. There is also unexpectedly much joy in what can sometimes be very difficult. We take care of the children and their families, and we take care of each other – because we know that we do a much better job together!
Pediatric Emergency and Specialized Department 95 E is Expanding
We are therefore looking for you as a nursing assistant with an interest in acute pediatric care who wants to grow in your professional role with us.
Our Operations
At the Pediatric Emergency and Specialized Department, 95 E, we see a need to increase the number of available inpatient care places. Our goal is to increase from 8 to 12 care places, and we are therefore looking for more nursing assistants. The Pediatric Emergency and Specialized Department 95 E is part of the section for acute pediatric care, along with the emergency department for children and adolescents. Since we are in close proximity to each other, there is also the possibility for rotation between the units.
At department 95 E, we care for, treat, and investigate children aged 0-18 years who need a few days of inpatient care. We primarily care for children with acute infections and medical diseases, but we are always prepared to care for pediatric patients from other sections as well.
We who work within the section are a wonderful group that is passionate about our work. Our multidisciplinary team always has the sick child and family at the center. We value good teamwork and have an open and permissive work climate. Patient safety and a professional approach are natural parts of our work, and we place great focus on daily, joint training sessions for the section's staff groups. We emphasize that all new employees receive a safe and structured introduction. As a nursing assistant, you will be supported by our development leaders who focus on supporting you in your individual needs during your first year with us. Reflection at the end of the work shift and feedback after difficult patient cases are also highly valued in our operations. Thanks to our different competencies and experiences, we develop and make each other even better in our work with our patients. Since our section focuses on acutely ill pediatric patients and their relatives, there is a significant need for further education and development. Therefore, the section has development leaders and coordinators who work for safety both in the staff group and with visitors.
Your Mission
At department 95E, you will work closely with many different professions. The work involves the usual tasks for nursing assistants in an acute care department for children and adolescents and offers great variation in terms of difficulty, content, and pace. As patients' conditions can change rapidly, the work is both varied and challenging. Therefore, well-functioning teamwork is always in focus.
As a new nursing assistant at 95 E, you will become part of our fantastic team and have the opportunity to grow into your new professional role as we open more care places!
Your Qualifications
We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant or a pediatric specialist nursing assistant. You should also have experience in acute inpatient care. If you have experience working in pediatric care, it is highly meritorious.
Your Competence
We are looking for you who have a great interest in acute pediatric care and find it exciting to learn new things. You can easily adapt your work pace as patients can quickly deteriorate in their general condition. You enjoy challenges and are committed to driving the operations forward.
We Offer
We offer a permanent position as a nursing assistant, full-time, with a start date according to agreement. You will work in Uppsala University Hospital's point model according to rotating shifts during the day, evening, night, and weekends.
For more information about the department's working hours and setup, please contact the recruiting manager. Before hiring, extracts from the police's suspicion and criminal records will be taken. There is an opportunity for rotation between 95E and the emergency department for children and adolescents.
