Product Developer at the Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority

The Swedish Mapping, Cadastral and Land Registration Authority is the agency responsible for mapping Sweden. Our tasks also include registering and securing ownership of all properties and managing their boundaries. We are now looking for someone with a strong commitment to society.

In order for houses, bridges, and roads to be built, knowledge of Sweden's geography and properties is needed. By mapping reality and providing current information about the country's topography and infrastructure, you contribute to the foundation for a sustainable and functioning society.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a product developer for the Product Ownership Geographic Information function. If you enjoy working with product changes, ensuring that changes are implemented in a structured manner, and managing multiple parallel tasks simultaneously, this job is for you.

Our information is primarily provided through services with machine interfaces but also via e-services with user interfaces. The services are used by companies, authorities, and individuals. The work with system management and product development is integrated and closely coordinated with the corresponding function for property information.

As a product developer, you will work with products and systems based on those that contain Geographic Information, such as topographic maps, hydrography, as well as aerial images, orthophotos, and laser data.

Your tasks will include participating in and driving the work with product changes, together with other experts or in project form. You will be responsible for analyzing requests for and needs for changes as a basis for operational decisions. You will often be the one responsible for matters during both the investigation phase and the actual implementation, including documenting decided changes in descriptive documentation (for example, information provision models in UML), and on the web.

You will also be responsible for testing products that contain geographic information, verifying that the information is delivered according to requirements, comparing deliveries to check the handling of information changes, and documenting test results. It also includes contributing to system management and, in collaboration with IT, ensuring that the systems function according to the business's requirements. The tasks also involve answering detailed questions in second-line support, analyzing recurring issues to find solutions, and implementing improvements that minimize the need for user support, as well as participating in the establishment of a management plan with requests, requirements, and resource needs. You will be a support to the product manager in various issues related to products.

In your work, you will be part of various networks, teams, and processes. Your natural home will be as a member of the product area team for geographic information and contribute to the tasks and responsibilities that the team collectively is responsible for.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a relevant university degree, preferably with a focus on Geographic Information, IT-GIS, system development, computer science, or other education combined with work experience that the employer assesses as equivalent and relevant for the position. You have a very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as a good ability to read and understand English texts. You also have experience or knowledge of working in or closely related to the field of Geographic Information. You also have knowledge and experience in the use of geodata products and associated IT systems, as well as technical knowledge of geodata services and how they function.

It is advantageous if you have experience as a system administrator or have worked with requirements work in development projects. We would also like you to have knowledge of modeling and acceptance testing and that you can read UML diagrams.

We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and are looking for someone who is structured and works according to a clear process, organizes and plans your work well, completes what has been started, and meets deadlines. You handle stress constructively and maintain a good mood under pressure and setbacks. You are collaborative and adaptable and have a selfless focus on the common goal. You are also analytical and solution-oriented and quickly find solutions to emerging problems while not losing sight of long-term strategies, seeing logic and connections in complex information or environments.

The position is security classified, which means that you must be a Swedish citizen and that a security review with background check and security interview will be conducted before employment.
