Senior Cybersecurity Specialist

Are you an engaged cybersecurity expert ready for new challenges alongside like-minded individuals? Combitech is now looking for employees for our Intelligence & Response unit in Stockholm and Linköping. As part of the team, you will join a unit consisting of several knowledgeable specialists in investigation and intelligence who work closely with clients and at the forefront of methods and technology.

Your role as a senior cybersecurity specialist

As a senior cybersecurity expert, you will take on a leading and advisory role. You will work closely with your approximately 30 colleagues across the country, supporting and coaching junior colleagues by acting as a sounding board in their assignments while also participating in projects alongside others in the team. In the team, we have regular check-ins where we share experiences, discuss new approaches, and solve problems together. As a senior expert in investigation and intelligence, you will also focus on ensuring that, together with the team, you have the conditions to do a good job, from the right equipment and methodology to the way we communicate and present our interim and final results.

In many of our investigations, you will take on the role of Incident Manager, ensuring that the investigators have the right conditions and that our client receives all the information they need to best solve the task. Typical tasks include reviewing and assessing IT environments from a security perspective with your closest colleagues or investigating and analyzing intrusions in IT systems and environments, conducting threat intelligence monitoring, and following trends among attackers or performing reverse engineering of various types of malware.

It is also common for you to participate in client meetings to assist our salespeople and clients in specifying assignments and approaches to ensure nothing is overlooked, meaning planning the different phases and methodologies of the assignment, and you plan the execution so that the right people and competencies are in place. At the end of each assignment, you compile reports and present them to both technical and non-technical recipients, in both Swedish and English.

Our clients span several industries, with a particular focus on critical infrastructure such as defense industry, banking and finance, energy, and government agencies. Typically, we have two or more consultants on our assignments, but even in solo assignments, the team is always close at hand to act as a sounding board.

Many of our clients seek knowledge from frameworks such as OWASP, OSSTMM, TIBER, and NIST, as well as certifications such as OSCP or equivalent from SANS or ISC2.

The position is based in Stockholm or Linköping, but other locations may be considered for the right candidate. Travel in the role is common as many of our assignments require us to be on-site with our clients. To the greatest extent possible, travel is planned to accommodate life situations.

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who is confident in methodologies, techniques, and approaches within IT security and who has encountered many different IT environments and industries. You are accustomed to taking responsibility for planning and defining assignments and test plans, and you move effortlessly between strategic discussions and practical implementation. Even if you have a technical background, it is your experiences and personal qualities that weigh the most for us.

You have worked extensively with cloud platforms and feel at home in Microsoft Azure or AWS environments, both in terms of security features, design, and implementation. You are used to formulating clear and technically in-depth analyses and can present results to both technical specialists and management groups.

We see that you have extensive experience in investigations, cyber threat intelligence, or penetration testing. You have built up deep expertise in one or more areas such as security in cloud environments, advanced security testing, Threat Intelligence work, Red Team methodology, penetration testing, scenario-based exercises, or threat actor simulation. Your background may also include network design and communication, firewalls, IDS/IPS, load balancing, and storage solutions. Other valuable experiences include IT forensics, reverse engineering, threat actor monitoring, and work with architecture, operating systems, virtualization, and containers.

Since the position involves work that is subject to defense secrecy, you are required to undergo and be approved in a security clearance with a background check.
