Are you looking for an interesting and varied job where you can have a meaningful role?
Welcome to the Habilitation Center and the unit for intellectual disabilities!
Our workplace is characterized by interdisciplinary teamwork and a good sense of community. You create opportunities for our patients to live a good life while also being part of developing the operations together with us.
Job Responsibilities
As a psychologist in the child team, you will work with children and young people aged 0-17 years. Your tasks include conducting assessments and mappings, some investigations, conducting support conversations and treatments, as well as offering psychoeducational interventions and in-depth diagnostic information. You also provide information, advice, recommendations, and support to relatives, staff, and networks. The conversations include motivating and supporting change. Your interventions are often based on principles from PBS and TBA.
We work in interdisciplinary teams together with social workers, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, dietitians, and special educators, which allows for continuous exchange of knowledge and competence. In many cases, we develop joint proposals for measures aimed at increasing participation and independence for the patient in everyday life.
There is a good camaraderie within the team, where we care for each other and have a lot of laughter. You have the opportunity to influence and plan your workday, as well as contribute to and drive improvement efforts within the IF unit. During vacancies in the organization, we may also need to support other teams for all patients to receive the right care.
About the Workplace
The Habilitation Center is a specialist operation with particular expertise in disabilities in the areas of intellectual disability, autism spectrum disorders, movement disabilities, visual impairments, and acquired brain injuries. We also have a coordination assignment for people with deafness, deafblindness, and hearing impairments. Our clinics are located in Västerås, Köping, and Fagersta. Within the Habilitation Center, we have 19 psychologists, which gives you the opportunity for professional exchange and support in psychological work.
The mission of the IF unit is to provide services to children, adolescents, and adults with intellectual disabilities. Our patients often have other diagnoses such as autism, movement disabilities, and various syndromes. We have the opportunity to follow our patients over time, creating long-term contacts and witnessing the progress and results of our work.
For us, it is important that you feel good and enjoy your job, so we offer you:
- Work in a well-functioning organization
- A tailored introduction program to help you feel secure in your professional role
- Regular supervision and professional meetings with other colleagues within the organization
- Opportunities for professional development through internal training
- Free access to our fully equipped gym
- Wellness allowance of 3000 SEK/year

New as a Psychologist
For newly licensed psychologists, we offer a two-year competence package to provide a smoother transition between the role of PTP psychologist and licensed psychologist.
The competence package includes:
- Organization-specific course

- Observation within primary care, habilitation, child and adolescent psychiatry, adult psychiatry, or forensic psychiatry (a total of five days)

Qualifications
We are looking for a licensed psychologist. If you have experience in treatment and investigation work, it is an advantage, but we also welcome those who are new to their profession.
