Job Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced dental nurse who will primarily assist in surgery, perform reception work, handle intraoral and panoramic radiography, and carry out patient administrative tasks. On-call duties may be included after a period of service.

As a dental nurse with us, you have an important role. The work requires a personal interest, continuous learning in the field, and close collaboration with our specialists in oral surgery, orofacial medicine, and oral radiology. About the Workplace

The Specialist Dental Care Clinic is part of the health and medical care administration in Region Västmanland and is located at Västmanlands Hospital in Västerås. The clinic consists of our three units: oral surgery, orthodontics, and oral rehabilitation. We provide specialist dental care that encompasses all specialties in dentistry and receive patients of all ages. The clinic employs approximately 80 staff members.

This position is located in the oral surgery unit. With us, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team consisting of oral surgeons, ST dentists, assistant dentists, a dental hygienist, and dental nurses. The unit also has specialists in oral radiology and orofacial medicine. We conduct ST training and research, and have close collaboration with other dental and medical specialties.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone with an approved dental nurse education and previous experience in the profession. If you have further training as an operating dental nurse, that is an advantage. We also see it as beneficial if you have previously worked in oral surgical nursing. Since the role involves record-keeping and communicating with patients, relatives, and colleagues, we expect you to have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.

Since the work can change rapidly in various ways, we see that you have the ability to be flexible while maintaining your calm and focus in stressful situations. You are self-driven and take responsibility for your tasks. As a large part of the work involves teamwork and close interaction with both patients and relatives, you need to be a team player with a sense of service.
