Welcome to Vindeln Parish!

In Vindeln, often referred to as the pearl of Västerbotten, located fifty kilometers northwest of Umeå, Vindeln Church stands as a beautiful exclamation mark right by the Vindel River.

The people in the central village of Vindeln and the surrounding villages are both welcoming and generous. There is an expectation of the church and its staff from both parishioners and the municipality.

The parish is now in an exciting development phase and is looking for you, a priest curious about a leadership role.

The parish has a creative and well-functioning team where collaboration is both obvious and necessary, and where many volunteers are eager to take responsibility. Municipal representatives, especially from schools, healthcare, and social services, consider the church a positive force in all possible contexts. Vindeln is located within the Ume Sami language area, and the parish wishes to develop relationships and work around Sami culture.

In Vindeln, there is a school up to grade 9 and good train and bus connections to Umeå. Living and working in Vindeln offers great opportunities for outdoor activities, including skiing, hiking, and even white-water rafting and canoeing if desired. The municipality also has a rich cultural life. The literature festival LittFors and Riksteatern in Vindeln - RIV, are our latest additions in that area.

We welcome you as an ordained priest according to the Church of Sweden's order and with several years of experience as a priest. You want to continue to deepen faith and life together with the parish.

To thrive in the job, you need to have good social skills, and we believe you enjoy meeting people of all ages. The job includes services and church activities, and work with confirmands, where part of the confirmation teaching takes place at summer camps. Discussion groups, language cafés, open preschool, and choir activities are part of our other important meeting places in the parish.

To lead activities in our villages, you need a driver's license and access to your own car.
