We have a need for a resource in the preschool focusing on children with diabetes.

The resource will play an important role in ensuring that the child's self-care is managed correctly and safely during the day.

Job Responsibilities

As a resource, your tasks will include supporting children in preschool with diabetes, which may involve measuring blood sugar levels, calculating meal doses, and providing support during activities.

You will also provide support and security for the child throughout the day. You will be largely responsible for parent communication.

In addition to diabetes care, you will participate in the preschool's regular activities, which means you will be an active part of the preschool's team and contribute to a stimulating and safe environment for all children.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has a strong commitment and knowledge of diabetes and self-care. You should feel secure in your role and be comfortable collaborating closely with children, guardians, and colleagues. We prefer that you are a preschool teacher or have equivalent competencies to assist a child with type 1 diabetes and work with the preschool's activities. Nursing education or equivalent experience and competence in the field is an advantage.

As a person, you are secure, inventive, and engaged, with the ability to create trusting relationships. You are flexible and adaptable in your work and enjoy being a resource for both children and staff. You have the ability to participate in everyday situations that preschool may involve. In the child's absence, you will be part of the regular activities. It is also important that you are interested in being an active part of the preschool's educational activities.

You have completed your upper secondary education, preferably as a preschool teacher, student assistant, nurse, or equivalent competence, and have started/completed pedagogical higher education. It is an advantage if you have knowledge of diabetes. Personal suitability is of utmost importance.

Experience from similar tasks or other work with children is an advantage for the position.
