Project Coordinator at the Swedish Armed Forces

As a Project Coordinator in the Swedish Armed Forces and the Armed Forces' Telecommunications and Information Systems Unit (FMTIS), you will play an important part in a successful team within an agency that is experiencing strong growth. The position will be located at FMTIS Implementation Unit North (GE North) with the workplace in Boden.
About FMTIS GE North
FMTIS has four implementation units in Sweden that perform maintenance of the Armed Forces' command systems within the IT and telecommunications area. The Implementation Unit North is one of them. GE North has a geographical spread that largely covers Norrland and is staffed with both military and civilian personnel. GE North consists of several Implementation Departments spread across the region's area of responsibility. The departments work with maintenance of the Armed Forces' telecommunication network, electrical/mechanical systems, radio, sensor, surveillance, as well as installation, operation, and maintenance of various IT systems.
Main Responsibilities
Within GE North, you will belong to a group of several project coordinators both in technical monitoring as well as in IT and Transmission. The group works across the entire area of responsibility of the unit, but this position will primarily work with the northern parts of the unit where many of the assignments are mainly located in Boden, Luleå, and Arvidsjaur. In the role of project coordinator in technical monitoring, you will:
- lead/execute projects, contracts, project planning, bidding work, delivery controls
- lead/follow up on the activities of contracted subcontractors
- be responsible for accounting and documentation of ongoing and completed work
- collaborate with suppliers, other authorities, and support the Armed Forces' units with technical questions
- drive expansion and new installation projects of alarms, access control, CCTV systems
- carry out budgeting of projects within the technical area
- ensure that projects are completed within the assigned budget and timeframe
- provide technical support and advice within the technical area.
The work is mainly performed in the Armed Forces' premises and facilities. Travel for training and work may occur.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications
- High school education with an electrical/telecommunication focus or equivalent knowledge that can be assessed as equivalent by the employer
- Experience working with technical monitoring systems (intrusion alarms, access control, and CCTV systems)
- Good IT skills and computer proficiency
- Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Driving license B
