About the Job

Within enforcement, our main area of law is enforcement law, but we come into contact with all of civil law. Your tasks consist of making simpler decisions and writing opinions according to the Enforcement Code. The decisions concern objections to enforcement. You apply your legal expertise primarily in preparatory work based on applicable guidelines and practices. You have daily contact with our clients and other external parties. You may also prepare legal matters together with our experienced lawyers/enforcement officers.

You will also be responsible for preparing incoming documents and handling administrative tasks.

Everyone working at the Swedish Enforcement Authority contributes to the fight against crime. Your tasks include identifying and preventing attempts at criminal activity and notifying other authorities of suspected crimes. As a preparatory lawyer, you may, for example, notice various types of criminal activity in cases. This can result in your contribution to preventing welfare crimes.

Possible placement locations are Umeå, Sundsvall, Östersund, or Luleå.

• Degree from the law program with 270 credits (180 credits according to the old system).

Good to Know

The employment is temporary full-time for one year, starting by agreement. You will be employed as a lawyer. The Swedish Enforcement Authority offers the possibility of remote work by agreement with the employer.

Working in the government means that you follow the state value base. There are also special requirements for judgment, security thinking, and compliance with applicable laws. We ask questions during the interview about any previous criminal activity and shortcomings in previous employment. For final candidates, these questions are also asked of references. We also collect information about debts registered with the Swedish Enforcement Authority, bankruptcy, and business prohibitions. The information obtained is weighed in the overall assessment of your suitability for the position.

An employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security review with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a decision on employment. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
