Our Operations

In the neuroscience department, specialized and highly specialized care is provided for patients with diseases and injuries of the nervous system and eyes. We work with investigation and diagnostics as well as medical and surgical treatment of both acute and chronic neurological and neurosurgical conditions and eye diseases. We offer care to patients from seven regions in Central Sweden and provide national highly specialized care in certain areas to patients from all over Sweden. The complex mission creates good conditions for our employees and the operation to develop.

About 550 employees work in the department, distributed across four wards, two day care units, one neuro intermediate care unit, one neuro intensive care unit, two operating rooms, and four outpatient clinics. In the department, there is also a high level of research, education, and development in close collaboration with Uppsala University. Our goal is to be nationally and internationally leading in care, research, and teaching in the field of neuroscience and eye diseases.

Your Mission

The position involves on-call work during the day, evening, night, and weekends. We are looking for someone who wants to develop as a clinical neurologist with a focus on patient-centered work. You will actively contribute to driving and developing the neurology section forward, with a particular focus on quality, improvement work, and good accessibility for patients. The work is varied and requires stress resistance, flexibility, and good collaboration skills. With clear communication and attentiveness, you create good relationships with both patients and colleagues from different professions. We value that you are engaged, present, and confident in your professional role.

Your Qualifications

We are now looking for a physician with a Swedish medical license who wants to complete their specialist training in neurology. Experience in the acute management of neurologically ill patients and acute stroke is advantageous. Previous work at a regional hospital or university hospital is also considered an asset. Great importance is placed on personal suitability.

We Offer

We offer a permanent full-time position with a start date according to agreement. The position includes primary on-call duties that are scheduled around the clock. Salary according to agreement.
