Reception for Special Care
Our 1800 employees work with close care and health in Uppsala County. We have a wide range of services within primary care. Our patients meet us at Region Uppsala's own health centers or within habilitation, and we provide advice by phone via 1177. Education, research, and development are important to us, as we adapt our offerings based on the needs of the residents. Already, we offer mobile teams, video visits, and smart e-services.
Welcome to apply for the position of nurse with us at the Reception for Special Care!
We offer a permanent full-time position, with immediate start or as agreed. A probationary period may apply.

Your Assignment
As a nurse, your tasks will include reception work with triage and some administrative work. You will work independently with tasks such as wound dressings, treatments, medication administration, assessments, and actively participate in the syringe exchange program. You will also assist doctors practically. Part of the job will involve staffing the newly opened Mobile Low-Threshold Reception. Sample collection is included in the position.
Your Competence
We are looking for a licensed nurse; it is an advantage if you have further education, experience in addiction care, and syringe exchange. It is also advantageous if you have experience working at a health center and collaborating with municipalities and other authorities. You possess a good ability to communicate in Swedish, both spoken and written.
Since our operations are based on teamwork, you should enjoy working in a team. Respectful treatment is of utmost priority in our assignments, and we place great importance on personal suitability for the position.
A driver's license with B category is required as we are now expanding with a mobile reception.
Our Operations
The operation opened in the autumn of 2016 and is located at the Academic Hospital in Uppsala and belongs to the management of Close Care and Health, Region Uppsala. The nearest team consists of a total of 5 people working as a doctor, nurse, social worker, and medical secretary. You will work daytime Monday to Friday with weekends and public holidays off. You can easily reach Uppsala by train, bus, or car.
The reception includes a medical reception for the homeless in Uppsala as well as a syringe exchange program, which should be easily accessible and trust-building for people who need special health and infection control measures. We collaborate with social authorities, other authorities, and other healthcare partners. Within the group, there are people who often have multiple psychological, somatic, addiction, or social problems. To provide the best possible care to our visitors, we actively work with continuous evaluation and development of the operation - all for their benefit. The operation is grant-funded. In the future, we aim to expand the operation with a low-threshold LARO unit.
