The surgical clinic is located in a modern building at Falu hospital. The clinic consists of three inpatient departments with 60 beds, a surgical outpatient clinic, an oncology outpatient clinic, and a bariatric care unit. The hospital is very close to the center of Falun and offers a beautiful view of the city.

The surgical clinic in Falun is a larger surgical clinic with broad expertise where collegial support in various contexts is a given. Together, we are over 300 employees at the surgical clinic responsible for approximately 4,000 surgeries per year. We continuously work to improve the work environment and patient safety and further develop the operations.

In the regional capital of Dalarna, it is easy to thrive and have an active life with outdoor activities, nature, and culture. The Lugnet sports arena is just a stone's throw from the hospital and is Europe's largest contiguous sports facility. Around Falun, there is fantastic nature and many beautiful lakes. From Falun, it takes just a few hours to reach the mountains in Sälen, Idre, and Grövelsjön, as well as the Stockholm/Uppsala region, Västerås, Gävle, and Örebro.

The inpatient care consists of surgical emergency care, upper GI, lower GI, plastic surgery, vascular surgery, urology, breast & endocrine surgery. The work is educational and varied.

Doctor vacancy for ST at the surgical clinic in Falun Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who wants to be part of the team at the surgical clinic in Falun with tasks in elective and emergency surgery as well as in the emergency department in Falun.

The position entails a 40-hour work week spread from Monday to Friday. It is a full-time position that also includes on-call duties as well as weekend on-call and, after some introduction, also night shifts in the emergency department. We offer a fixed-term employment of 6-12 months. If suitable, there will be an opportunity for a formal ST position where we offer training to become a certified specialist in general surgery. The start date for the employment is September 1, 2026, or as agreed.

Requirements:

• You are a licensed physician.

Meritorious:

• Completed AT training or similar connection to Region Dalarna

Personal qualities such as flexibility, ease of working in a team, and good communication skills in both speech and writing are advantageous.

This position requires you to have a valid license for the relevant profession. Your professional license will be checked against the National Board of Health and Welfare's register of licensed healthcare professionals (HOSP) before any job offer is made.
