Värmdö is the meeting place of the archipelago with a unique combination of the tranquil beauty of nature and a more urban lifestyle. Our mission is not one but many: schools, real estate, social services, harbors, healthcare, libraries, care, and many more. We strive to ensure that all residents of Värmdö can live a rich and free life. We want to be the ones who enable the dream of a vibrant and secure environment for homes, families, and businesses.
To succeed fully, we must have diverse competencies and work together for a common and trusting work culture, built on brave, responsible employees who understand the needs and wishes of the residents.
Gustavsgården is a municipal special housing for the elderly.
The residence is located in pleasant surroundings in central Gustavsberg and consists of three units: house A, house B, and house C. Approximately 100 people work at Gustavsgården.
In the role of occupational therapist, you help create important conditions for patients to live as independently, actively, and meaningfully as possible. You perform, among other things, ADL and functional assessments of activity ability and support needs. Based on the resident's needs, planning, implementation, and follow-up of interventions such as prescribing assistive devices and activity training are carried out. The work is done in a team around the patient together with physiotherapists, nursing staff, and nurses. The team's collaboration is a prerequisite for good and patient-safe care. The work also includes guidance for nursing staff in a rehabilitative approach and training in transfer techniques.
We are looking for someone who appreciates working in a team, is flexible, and proactively seeks new knowledge and experience. Working as an occupational therapist at Gustavsgården requires that you can work both independently and as part of a team. Previous experience in the field and previous work in special housing is advantageous. Experience in Modern Working Techniques and assistive device prescription is also a plus.
For this position, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment.
The position is a full-time temporary position for approximately one year with the possibility of extension. Start date by agreement.
Värmdö Municipality offers wellness grants, SL cards against net salary deductions, and vacation conversion to extra days off. We also actively work to create health-promoting workplaces with a good working environment and apply smoke-free working hours.
We strive for a balanced gender distribution and see diversity as a strength, therefore welcoming applicants from different backgrounds.
