PTP Psychologists Wanted
We are looking for two PTP psychologists starting in September 2026 who are interested in working with teenagers undergoing dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) or in our Project Unit conducting a research project with teenagers and their guardians in a DBT/CBT-inspired family-oriented treatment.
The DBT team offers dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) for youth aged 13-17 and their families where the youth has issues including recurrent self-harm, suicide attempts, and/or emotional instability. The service includes both individual treatment, skills training in groups for youth and parents/significant others, as well as family consultations, parent consultations, and phone support. Regular external supervision is also included in consultation team meetings. One of the PTP psychologists will belong here.
The BUP Project Unit is part of the DBT team. We are conducting the study "Randomized Controlled Study of Psychological Treatment for Children and Adolescents Who Have Attempted Suicide" in collaboration with Karolinska Institute and Johan Bjureberg's research group, where we meet youth aged 10-17 and their families. The youth have issues including suicide attempts, difficulties with emotion regulation, and/or depression. In this research project, the second PTP psychologist will belong. Here you will gain experience in how clinic and research integrate and work transdiagnostically in family work. The DBT team consists of 32 employees with various professions; psychologist, doctor, social worker, nurse, therapist, and administrator, of which five psychologists work within the BUP Project Unit. Our reception is located at Krukmakargatan 37 (near Zinkensdamm).
Job Responsibilities
As a PTP psychologist in the DBT team, you will conduct treatment work both individually and in family and skills training groups according to DBT. The work is done in close collaboration with colleagues in one of our four consultation teams and also in cooperation with other units within BUP. You will also participate in outreach work and, if interested, in method development. As a PTP psychologist in the BUP Project Unit, you will conduct therapy with youth and parents, both individually and in family format, within the framework of a clinical research project. You will meet patients both independently and together with a colleague. Treatment sessions are recorded, and you will receive supervision based on these recordings.
As a PTP psychologist, you will be part of the regional PTP program.
Qualifications
You who are applying should have a psychology degree, with a CBT focus, obtained no later than June 2026 and be approved for service in Sweden. Experience in child and adolescent psychiatric/psychological work and as a research assistant is meritorious. A particular interest in or experience with DBT is also meritorious.
Employment Form
Both PTP positions are temporary employment for 12 months, full-time. Start date September 2026, or by agreement.
Personal Qualities
You are responsible, have good collaborative skills, and are structured. You express yourself well in writing, contribute to a good atmosphere, and are flexible in a growing and changing organization. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
We Offer
BUP creates good conditions for you to develop and become really good in your profession. As an employee, you have benefits such as free public healthcare, extra compensation during parental leave, the possibility of salary exchange, occupational pension, and insurance. We also offer flexible working hours, a wellness hour per week, and wellness compensation (5,000 SEK per year).
