Drift Street & Park is part of the Technology and Service Office in Strängnäs municipality and takes care of the green public space; we value and are passionate about the green and sustainable. We primarily work with the operation and maintenance/care of the municipality's public areas such as streets, squares, grass areas, plantings, playgrounds, and forests, etc. We also ensure that waste management and winter road maintenance function properly. Staff are located in Strängnäs, Mariefred, Åkers Styckebruk, and Stallarholmen.

The summer internship in Strängnäs municipality gives our youth (born 2008–2010) a chance to try out one of the many fun professions available within the municipal operations. We want to showcase our broad operations and hope that the summer internship can inspire our youth when they choose a profession in the future.

We are now looking for supervisors for the summer to guide the youth who will work with us in street, park & operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

You will, together with another supervisor, take care of and guide the youth working in our operations during the summer vacation. The youth's tasks mainly involve picking up litter, weeding, and maintaining order in the surrounding areas.

You will be two supervisors working simultaneously, and your task is to ensure that your youth perform their work in the best possible way. You will also be the link between the youth and other functions in the municipality.

You will be scheduled Monday to Friday, from 07:00 to 16:00.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• a completed upper secondary education.
• current experience in supervision and/or working with children/youth.
• good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
• good experience using IT as support in work, e.g., for documentation.
• a B driver's license and good driving experience.

It is also meritorious if you have:

• previous relevant experience working in street, park, and operations.
• post-secondary education.
• previous experience as a coach or leader in an association.

As a person, we are looking for someone who is social, has an easy time creating new contacts, and enjoys working with youth. You are meticulous, reliable, can work independently, and are willing to take your own initiatives.

For this work, a police record extract must be presented before employment.
