Eskilstuna Parish consists of four congregations, a funeral service, two preschools, and a broad support function. The parish's funeral service consists of two operational areas, Service and Cemetery. Together, the funeral service is responsible for, among other things, burials, grave site allocations, grave administration, cremations, cemetery maintenance, and grave care services. Here, we regularly meet people in grief, and with respect, we strive to make everything around as good as possible for everyone involved.

Responsibilities
As a chapel and cemetery host with us, you will be part of the funeral service's service team, together with administration and the crematorium. You are one of two chapel and cemetery hosts in the team.
Your main responsibilities are:
- Prepare and restore the chapel in connection with funerals
- Perform urn burials and assist with coffin burials
- Assist and hand out coffins and urns
- Conduct grave viewings and inform about service offerings
The position also includes some administrative tasks such as orders and invoice management, as well as some cleaning and minor maintenance work. The position is located in the funeral service's premises at S:t Eskil's Cemetery, 5 km outside central Eskilstuna. Travel to the parish's other cemeteries may occur, which is why a B driver's license is a requirement for the position.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who has:
- Completed high school education
- Documented very good IT and computer skills
- Good knowledge of Swedish in both spoken and written form
- Good physical condition as the work can be physically demanding
- B driver's license
Previous experience of similar tasks, other work within service, or work involving proximity to the end of life can be advantageous. However, personal suitability for the job is crucial. We also see that you share the values of the Church of Sweden.
The work largely involves meeting people in grief, in connection with deaths and funerals, which places very high demands on service orientation and a professional approach. To succeed in the role, you need to have high integrity and possess the ability to maintain a good balance between professionalism and empathy. You handle both people and information in a respectful and ethical manner. Your values are well-founded and clear, and in critical situations at work, you are guided by them. In stressful or psychologically demanding situations, you remain calm, stable, and controlled.
