About the Position

The Business Service Owner (BSO) has overall responsibility for ensuring that the platform's services are developed, managed, and adapted in accordance with the Armed Forces' governance, operational needs, and long-term goals. The role involves methodically gathering, structuring, and translating operational requirements and needs from the Armed Forces' various units into clearly defined and actionable activities.

The BSO serves as a central function in coordinating the service's management, internal stakeholders, and delivery teams, working towards a secure, predictable, and value-creating service delivery that supports the Armed Forces' overall mission.

Responsibilities

  • Capture, analyze, and prioritize operational needs in close dialogue with the Armed Forces' various operational areas
  • Ensure that requirements and needs are clearly defined, documented, and ready for further handling in respective management and delivery teams
  • Be responsible for the services' roadmap, version management, lifecycle, and improvement plans
  • Ensure that each service has clear goals, KPIs, and follow-up mechanisms
  • Collaborate with managers within the Armed Forces, delivery leaders, and relevant specialists to enable effective development and stable operations
  • Represent the services in forums for governance, prioritization, and operational coordination

Examples of Tasks

  • Collect, validate, and structure operational needs
  • Create and manage a backlog related to the services
  • Drive continuous improvement of the services based on user needs and technical development
  • Participate in planning meetings, PI planning, operational demos, and improvement areas
  • Communicate changes, status, and decisions to relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure that the service catalog is kept updated with accurate information
  • Be responsible for cloud enablement within the platform, including ensuring that services and solutions utilize cloud capabilities in a secure and efficient manner
  • Exercise customer responsibility towards application customers and end-users from a business perspective, focusing on needs capture, prioritization, and value maximization

Qualifications

  • Documented experience in requirements management and service ownership within IT or platform management
  • Good understanding of the Armed Forces' operations or similar complex governmental environments
  • Experience with agile working methods and backlog management (e.g., Azure DevOps)
  • Experience working with Microsoft Cloud (Azure) including associated applications and services
  • 3-year upper secondary education with an IT focus or other education that we assess as equivalent
  • Good communication skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Swedish citizenship
  • Driver's license B

Desirable Knowledge

  • Experience with various cloud environments
  • Experience with ITIL processes, particularly service ownership and service catalog management
  • Experience handling classified information
  • Experience working in a hybrid environment with both Armed Forces employees and consultant resources
  • Experience of larger digital transformations and change management
  • Experience working in NATO-related contexts and knowledge of NATO Cloud compliance such as D32, SCF, etc.
  • Experience working with IT systems within the Armed Forces

Other

The position is permanent, as a civilian employment, and begins with a 6-month probationary period for those not employed within the Armed Forces. The place of employment is Örebro. The position involves business travel.

The unit has a collective responsibility for the Armed Forces' technical command systems that support military operations at sea, on land, and in the air - in Sweden and abroad.
