Mora is a town close to nature and mountains that invites outdoor activities and an active leisure year-round. Mora Hospital is one of Region Dalarna's two acute hospitals. Approximately 80,000 residents live in the catchment area, but outdoor facilities in Sälen and Idre, as well as large sporting events both summer and winter, bring significant tourist flows. At Mora Hospital, you will find the coziness of a small hospital while it serves as a trauma hospital. The Operation Anesthesia ICU clinic consists of the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Central Operation (C-op), Day Surgery Mora (DKM), and Sterile Technology. Approximately 1,500 patients are cared for in the ICU each year, of which about 500 are ICU patients. In C-op and DKM, a total of about 4,500-5,000 operations are performed each year, mainly surgery and orthopedics, but also some urology. Sterile Technology handles goods from the operating departments, care departments, and outpatient clinics at the hospital, as well as from all health centers in Region Dalarna. We have a close collaboration with other clinics and also assist with external assignments at the hospital, such as sedation in outpatient clinics, alarm teams, and higher competence during secondary transport to another hospital. At Central Operation, elective activities are primarily conducted in our five operating rooms during the day, in addition to emergency activities with an operating team available around the clock, all year round. Job Responsibilities

As a nursing assistant in the central operation, you will work closely with the surgical nurse and anesthesia nurse in the perioperative care of the patient. Together with the surgical nurse, you will be responsible for systematically planning and organizing the work in connection with surgical procedures, ensuring that hygienic and aseptic principles are met and preventing the spread of infection. The position is a temporary one where you will have the opportunity to work daytime Monday to Friday. Daytime Monday to Friday means a 40-hour work week. Region Dalarna offers a generous wellness allowance.

Qualifications

Our requirements are that you:

• are a trained nursing assistant and hold a protected professional title, with a degree from the care and nursing program or the vocational package for care and nursing in adult education
• have several years of experience from ward or outpatient work within hospital care
• can present a diploma from the Care and Nursing College

It is meritorious if you have:

• previous experience of working in an operating department, emergency department, or intensive care

We are looking for someone who is positive and meticulous, has a patient-focused approach, and a good attitude towards both patients and colleagues. You also have an easy time expressing yourself in Swedish, both spoken and written, and working in a digital medical record management system. Your multitasking ability and stress tolerance are good, and you have the ability to keep many balls in the air. We also see that you have good cooperation skills and a flexible working style. We are looking for someone who is engaged and contributes to a good working environment. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability and previous references.

Information about the Professional Title

As of July 1, 2023, nursing assistant is a protected professional title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant within care and nursing.

You can apply for the certificate from July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in care and nursing, but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those who are offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. Those who had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, can continue to use the nursing assistant title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplace/employer after July 1. After that, you need to have a certificate of protected professional title to use the title nursing assistant.
