The Health and Care Administration in Östersund Municipality is looking for you who are a care assistant or trained nursing assistant for home care in Orrviken. Here, you will work together with six dedicated colleagues who are all passionate about providing good and secure care. Our base is in Orrviken, where you will have the opportunity to enjoy beautiful surroundings and moments of recovery between visits to citizens. Our unit has a close collaboration with the home care service Frösödal, and we support and help each other as needed. We place great emphasis on a good working environment so that everyone feels well and can provide good service to our citizens.
The position is full-time with the possibility of a lower working degree. Working hours are scheduled for day, evening, and weekend shifts according to a rolling six-week schedule. A probationary period may be applied.
Your new job
As a care assistant or nursing assistant in home care, you will work with personal care and service in citizens' homes. You will promote physical, mental, and social health for the citizens you assist. Your mission is to support the citizen and facilitate their daily life. You provide personal care based on individual needs and perform delegated health and medical care tasks such as specific care and rehabilitation. You will collaborate with nursing assistants, care assistants, coordinators, district nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and unit managers. Documenting in our operational systems is an important part of your duties.
Common tasks
- Assist citizens with personal hygiene and basic care
- Support during transfers
- Administration of medication according to medical delegation and prescription
- Preparation of light meals
- Bandaging
- Care of various internal outlets (e.g., urinary catheters or stomas)
- Simple wound dressing
- Care documentation
- Dishes and light cleaning tasks
Your qualifications
Requirements
- At least one year of work experience in home care
- Driver's license B
- Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
Meritorious
- Trained nursing assistant
- Experience from municipal health and medical care
- Experience as a contact person
- Good computer skills

I have been a manager since 2021 and find home care to be a very fun, interesting, and rewarding field. It is important for me to be available for you and your colleagues as much as possible. My goal is for the workgroup to focus on the citizens and for them to feel secure in knowing what to do and what is expected.
