Welcome to Berg Municipality - Municipality of the Year 2024!
Two-thirds of our population lives outside our urban areas, and we do not see the municipality's sparsity as a hindrance but as an opportunity! Here, you will find magnificent nature close at hand, a strong entrepreneurial spirit, and an active cultural and community life. For those who want the city's offerings and communications, Östersund is just a stone's throw away. The South Sámi culture, reindeer husbandry, and language are an important part of the municipality's identity.
As an employer, all municipal activities are based on our five guiding principles: togetherness, courage, effectiveness, communication, and sustainability. Our guiding principles are designed to be our compass and guidance, always promoting trust and a good organizational culture with the citizen in focus.
On bergsliv.se, we have gathered inspiring reports about people living in the municipality and facts about our urban areas. Welcome to find your dream life with us in Berg Municipality!
We accept your job application digitally via our recruitment system. If you have protected personal information, do not send your application through the recruitment system. Instead, contact the HR consultant via switchboard 0687-161 00, and you will receive assistance on how to apply safely. We kindly ask for no contact from staffing and recruitment companies or job advertisement sellers.
Are you driven by seeing others develop and want to make a difference for children and young people? Here is your opportunity!
We are now looking for an engaged licensed psychologist for our student health services, who will be a central function and an important link between functions working to strengthen our students. Here, you will have good opportunities to shape and further develop areas of activity. Warm welcome with your application!
Job Responsibilities
As a school psychologist, you will assess students' needs and plan interventions together with the respective principal and student health team. These interventions should contribute to each student reaching their knowledge goals and being given the conditions to develop as individuals. We see the promotional and preventive work as central to this, which may involve guidance and consultation, as well as educating staff, guardians, and students on various issues.
In your role, you will also be responsible for creating and developing overarching strategies and routines for work concerning children with diagnoses, social exclusion, and mental health issues. You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining good contacts with external functions, such as Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (BUP). The position also includes time for professional development in the form of monitoring the external environment to follow current research.
You will belong to the Central team, which consists of school nurses, school social workers, study and career counselors, IT pedagogues, IT support, coordinators in the social school team, and the manager. You will also participate in our local student health teams, whose primary task is to work from a preventive and health-promoting perspective. The local student health teams are led by the principal at each school, and you will thus work on behalf of your immediate supervisor and our principals. The position is based in Svenstavik, but your work will also involve travel to other schools within the municipality.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a licensed psychologist and has experience in conducting developmental assessments and/or neuropsychiatric evaluations. If you have specialized training in educational psychology or neuropsychology, it is an advantage. It is also advantageous if you have previous experience working in schools and/or with children and young people, as well as experience in providing guidance and working consultatively. A driver's license for a passenger car (B license) is a requirement.
Berg Municipality is a Sámi administrative municipality, and we therefore consider it advantageous if you have knowledge of the South Sámi language and culture.
Personal Qualities
You have good leadership qualities and are used to collaborating but also have the ability to work independently. You are good at making analyses and prioritizing and delimiting your assignment based on these. As a person, you are calm, responsible, structured, and have a positive attitude towards an inclusive working method. You can act according to your own convictions, plan and drive your work independently, and adapt your professional assessment to the recipient. We also see that you are a curious person who enjoys working where there are opportunities for influence, change, and development.
We Offer
Working in Berg Municipality means that you become part of an organization in constant development and forward motion. Our employees are our most important resource, and we value you for your unique skills and experience. There is an opportunity for vacation exchange, pension exchange, and some remote work. We also have a benefits portal with a variety of offers, a genuine wellness allowance, and the opportunity for wellness during paid working hours.
The position is permanent and will be filled before the autumn term of 2026 or by agreement. Selection and invitations to interviews will take place continuously during the advertising period.
Warm welcome with your application to us within the Central team in Berg Municipality!
