Residents of Jämtland County in need of specialist psychiatric care receive treatment in outpatient or inpatient settings at Östersund Hospital. The staff at the units have a significant responsibility to develop and improve care in collaboration with the area's management. There are approximately 270 employees in the area.

The Eating Disorder Unit offers evidence-based specialist care for adults with eating disorder issues, often in combination with comorbidity. We work in a multi-professional team with shared responsibility for assessment, treatment, and follow-up. Our treatment approach is based on CBT-E (Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders) and is supplemented as needed with other evidence-based elements based on the patient's needs.

  • Implementation of treatment interventions based on evidence-based practice, with CBT-E as the foundation
  • Participation in teamwork and treatment conferences as well as coordination with other care providers and authorities as needed
