Welcome as an Occupational Therapist to the Rheumatology Clinic
The Rheumatology Clinic is one of several operations within the Heart, Neurology, and Rehabilitation area. Our operations are conducted at Remonthagen, located about 2.5 km from Östersund Hospital. Östersund Rehabilitation Center also has a rehabilitation ward, outpatient rehabilitation, and a pain unit.
The Rheumatology Clinic is a specialist clinic for the investigation, care, and treatment of patients with confirmed or suspected rheumatic inflammatory diseases. The unit consists of a comprehensive outpatient operation and has access to inpatient care at the rehabilitation ward if needed. Our operations consist of a multiprofessional team that includes doctors, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, social workers, medical secretaries, and nursing assistants in our own laboratory. Outpatient care is provided in the form of individual visits, day care, and some group activities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As an occupational therapist, you work independently but also in a team with other professionals. The main tasks include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating based on the occupational therapy process, following the specific interventions based on national guidelines and person-centered care pathways.
The occupational therapist's interventions aim to:
- reduce/prevent functional impairment
- achieve the best possible activity and participation in daily life and promote maintained/improved work capacity
- strengthen personal factors and contribute to a supportive environment (e.g., physical environment, assistive devices, attitudes of the surroundings)
- provide support for healthy and sustainable lifestyle habits
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a licensed occupational therapist with an interest and preferably experience in working in a team with rheumatological rehabilitation. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability. We seek someone with good collaboration skills, the ability to plan and structure their work, and engagement in patient work and the development of the organization. A driver's license (B) is required.
