We are looking for someone who wants to improve the quality of life for individuals with cognitive challenges. In this consultative role, you will have the opportunity to develop and contribute to creating safe and dignified care for patients with dementia and cognitive impairment.

We at the Health, Care, and Social Services Administration's Health and Prevention unit are seeking a nursing assistant with further education as a Silvia Sister. In this key role, you will contribute to the development of elderly care within the administration. You will be part of a team of consultative Silvia Sisters and consultative nurses focused on dementia, diabetes, and psychiatry.

Responsibilities

As a Silvia Sister, you work to ensure that individuals with dementia or cognitive impairment, whether they live in regular housing or special housing, receive person-centered care based on a salutogenic approach. The role is outward-facing and involves collaboration with many different actors, providing you with extensive contact opportunities.

You are a professional support for both employees and relatives. By providing guidance in direct care situations and educating both staff and relatives, you contribute to enhancing competence in dementia care. Your work also includes participating in relative education, support groups, and events such as National Relatives' Day.

An important part of the assignment is environmental monitoring and driving the development of municipal dementia care. You also play a central role in the work with the national quality register BPSD, where you are both active and driving.

Qualifications

  • Nursing assistant education with proof of protected professional title
  • Trained Silvia Sister
  • 5 years of work experience in health care, medical care, or social care
  • Documented knowledge, skills, and experience in one or more specialist areas within health care, medical care, or social care.
  • Good Swedish in speech and writing
  • Digital competence that means it is natural to use a computer as a work tool and aid, as well as the ability to quickly familiarize yourself with new programs and systems.
  • Cycling is an advantage

You who are applying are a flexible person who quickly adapts to changes and sees opportunities. You are a team player with good collaboration skills and clear communication. As a specialist, you have deep expertise and a structured working method.

About the workplace

The Department of Health and Prevention is responsible for initiatives in the areas of health promotion and preventive work. Important cornerstones of the department's work are to develop new forms of social community and participation in society. The department implements decided initiatives according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and carries out initiatives according to the Health and Medical Care Act and has a particularly important task focused on increasing the quality of life and combating involuntary loneliness among our elderly as well as developing new forms for this work.

The department's activities include, among other things, meeting places for the elderly, day activities, handyman services, fall prevention, outreach activities, support for relatives, escort services, contact persons, and respite care at home.
