The Psychosis area within the adult psychiatry services in Malmö-Trelleborg offers psychiatric interventions for patients with psychosis issues. Our mission is to provide effective psychosis care through respectful interactions to enable a good life for our patients. In both outpatient and inpatient care, we assess, investigate, diagnose, treat, and rehabilitate patients with diagnoses such as schizophrenia, delusional symptoms, schizoaffective syndromes, and other conditions where psychosis development is suspected. We base our approach on a holistic view of mental health that combines medical, psychological, and social interventions.

The Psychosis Reception at Drottninggatan caters to patients with a previously diagnosed psychosis. The reception consists of four FACT teams with different geographical catchment areas. The team includes specialist doctors, psychologists, social workers, nurses, nursing assistants, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, peer support, and medical secretaries. All FACT teams at Drottninggatan are also co-located and integrated with housing pedagogues and IPS specialists from Malmö City.

The Psychosis area consists of four outpatient clinics, one of which is located in Trelleborg, and three units providing inpatient care in Malmö. The position is based in the psychosis area at the Drottninggatan reception in Team Northeast.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We look forward to welcoming a new specialist doctor to the psychosis area within Adult Psychiatry Malmö-Trelleborg!

As a specialist doctor, you will work with assessments, diagnostics, and treatments alongside an engaged interdisciplinary team. You will play a crucial role in participating in various internal conferences and contributing to ensuring good and patient-safe care in our units. The position also includes on-call duties.

We accept medical students from the basic training. You are expected to contribute to the supervision of all levels of training doctors both at the reception and as part of the on-call work. Since the operation is classified as a university hospital unit, this means we actively invest in both research and education.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who apply are a licensed physician authorized to practice within Swedish healthcare. Additionally, you have specialist competence in general psychiatry. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe’s scale is a requirement. You should have completed or planned a course in clinical supervision. We consider it an advantage if you have a PhD and an interest in research within the psychosis field. Previous work with the patient group and experience and interest in teamwork are also advantageous.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that doctors have pedagogical experience and training. You may have acquired this through supervising nursing and medical students as well as doctors in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral candidates. Clearly describe in your application any completed or planned pedagogical courses (documentation), experience in supervision, and teaching at various levels.

As a person, you have good communication skills, where you can convey knowledge and messages clearly and pedagogically. You also have a good ability to prioritize among your tasks when the situation demands it. You are an unpretentious team player with a strong commitment and interest in our operations, as well as a flexible and loyal colleague in the specialist doctor group. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
