The gastroenterology section belongs to the surgical and gastroenterology area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus). We provide both broad and highly specialized gastroenterological and hepatological healthcare, as well as research and education in Malmö and Lund. We have a large, joint gastroenterology outpatient clinic in Malmö, and our gastroenterology department is also located there. The clinical nutrition clinic is in Lund, and our advanced endoscopy clinics are in both cities. Additionally, specialists from the section work at the surgical acute care unit (KAVA) in Lund.

In addition to the usual disease spectrum, we have specialized clinics for several areas, including intestinal failure, neurogastroenterology, IBD ultrasound, and polyposis. The gastroenterology section consists of about 40 gastroenterologists/future gastroenterologists, and our interest in research, development, and education is strong, with extensive national and international contacts and proactive colleagues. In 2025, our operations in Malmö will move to entirely new and purpose-built premises in the New Hospital Malmö (NSM).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a resident physician in gastroenterology and hepatology!

The training takes place within the framework of the residency program with an individual supervisor and the formulation of a customized residency contract. The service is planned in consultation with the operations manager, study director, supervisor, and in accordance with the National Board of Health and Welfare's goal description and the recommendations of the Swedish Gastroenterological Society. Within the framework of the position, you can also become a specialist in internal medicine.

We offer you a varied and diverse job within the gastroenterology area. The tasks include outpatient and inpatient work, endoscopies, and on-call duties. The position also includes teaching medical students, observing physicians, and other personnel categories.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you as a licensed physician with the authority to work within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. Previous experience from clinical service in gastroenterology is meritorious, as well as service/specialist examination in internal medicine and research experience. A doctoral degree is meritorious.

As a person, you have a good attitude towards your surroundings and find it easy to collaborate with different professional categories. Additionally, you are flexible in your working methods and can adapt to changing circumstances. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
