Welcome to the District Veterinarians in Kristianstad!

Our clinic is located in Vä, a few kilometers southwest of Kristianstad. From January 2025, we will be a team of ten veterinarians, one licensed veterinary nurse, and four animal caretakers. In spring 2017, we moved to our newly built clinic, which is designed according to the flow for both patients, pet owners, and staff. We are well-equipped with digital X-ray, dental X-ray, ultrasound, dental unit, blood analysis, and an operating room. We have a well-visited feed store where we also sell various dietary supplements, shampoos, and aids for both small animals and horses. We are a cheerful group with a strong sense of community. We value good camaraderie all around and see it, along with our competence and service, as our strengths.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a veterinarian with us, you will primarily work with small animals in our clinic, such as dental patients, surgical patients, outpatient patients, and those with more acute conditions. Since we are an emergency service, you will also work with farm animals and horses in the field. Our small animal clinic is open every weekday and is staffed daily by several veterinarians. At our clinic, we handle preventive measures such as vaccinations, neutering, and dental treatments, as well as perform various forms of soft tissue surgery. We also accept patients with more acute conditions. We invest heavily in our small animal operations, which means there are good development opportunities.

Work with cattle is often of an acute nature, but also includes a fair amount of surgery, such as cesarean sections, rumen issues, and hoof diseases. We also have several farms where we work preventively on a continuous basis.

Our equine practice is mostly of an acute nature, but we also have a number of planned visits such as inspections, dental treatments, investigations, etc. Official assignments occur for both horses and cattle.

We constantly strive for high quality in what we do. We see it as natural to share knowledge and experience with each other. Everyone is equally important, and everyone contributes to making our workplace pleasant and progressive. We have round-the-clock readiness, year-round, which means that night and weekend work is part of the job. Sometimes you work alone, but you are never alone.

We continuously work on professional development, and we see your growth in your work as our best investment.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a licensed veterinarian with knowledge and interest in small animals. We are primarily looking for someone with expertise in small animal dentistry. We receive dental patients several times a week, and the interest among our pet owners is high. Therefore, we need to expand our staffing in this area and hope that you are the one we are looking for.

As a veterinarian, you are self-sufficient in your professional role and take responsibility for driving your work forward. You are flexible, service-oriented, and social. We place great importance on personal suitability and communication skills.

Emergency service duty is included in the position. Swedish veterinary license and a B driver's license are required.

OTHER

We care about our staff. Therefore, we offer all employees within the District Veterinarians various benefits. Some examples include 28-35 days of vacation depending on your age, salary exchange, wellness grants, and occupational health services. For parents, we have good conditions to find a balance between work and family life, including parental leave supplements and the opportunity to reduce your working hours until the child is twelve years old.

We strive for diversity among our employees.

Our working language is Swedish, and our services require that you master Swedish in both speech and writing.

We normally apply a 6-month probationary period.

In preparation for the recruitment process, the District Veterinarians have made decisions regarding recruitment channels and marketing. Therefore, we do not wish to be contacted by ad sellers or recruitment companies.

At the District Veterinarians, we use e-recruitment through Public Jobs to streamline and ensure the quality of the application process. Once you have filled in your information, you can easily apply for other jobs without having to fill in the information again.
