Borlänge municipality is the city's largest employer with operations in many important areas. Within the Social and Labor Market Administration, there are, among other things, Individual and Family Care (IFO) and Labor Market and Economic Assistance (AEB).

Right now, a lot is happening with us. We are in the midst of an intensive development process with a transition to a new social services act, development of in-house services, improved quality and follow-up, among other things – and this is where you come in. As a developer, you will play a key role in our change work.

Within IFO, there are about 375 employees. Labor Market and Economic Assistance has about 130 employees. You will work towards both of these operations. You will work closely with IFO's other developer Emma. In the administration, there are also several managers and support functions that collaborate closely and support each other in daily work. Your manager will be Tomas Ahlin, who is the operations manager for Individual and Family Care. Tomas says that it is a happy group working here and that the atmosphere is great – “to be honest, there is a really cool vibe here” – says Tomas.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Being a developer in this role means a day filled with variety, responsibility, and yes, really fun challenges. Let us tell you more!

As a developer, you will participate in municipality-wide planning and drive work to further develop and quality assure our existing quality and management system. As a developer, you will be the coordinator for the administration's method supporters, who in turn support the operations in quality work as well as the development of working methods, processes, and routines. In addition to the coordination responsibility, you will lead processes and projects within various development assignments.

A large part of the position involves working closely with the social and labor market committee, where you will prepare decision-making materials, service writings, and analyses, as well as contribute to the preparatory work.

You will have a key function in the operation regarding coordination and reporting of statistics, responding to authority surveys, and managing municipal grants. In the event of legislative changes, you will analyze consequences and identify development needs.

As a developer within IFO, you will also collaborate with other administrations in the municipality. You will also be part of working groups at both the regional and municipal levels.

The work involves moving between political governance, administrative management, and operations, giving you a broad understanding of how the municipality works in practice.

QUALIFICATIONS

I believe you have already understood that development and change work are the main parts of this position, which means that you are a change-oriented person who enjoys seeing what you do today can result in tomorrow. To succeed as a developer, a strong commitment to people and development issues is required. Since you will be involved in many processes that are both strategic and operational, you should find it easy to structure your work and be flexible in your professional practice. Furthermore, you are a good communicator with experience in investigating complex issues, preparing decision-making materials, and presenting them both in writing and orally.

You have a degree in social work or another equivalent higher education. You have good knowledge of the social services' mission and the challenges the operation faces.

We see that it is meritorious if you have experience from any of the following areas: social child care, substance abuse, or income support. Experience in project management is also meritorious.

You express yourself very well in both speech and writing.
