The care for medication-assisted rehabilitation for opioid dependence (LARO) in Skåne is undergoing changes with the phasing out of the LARO care model. We plan to open more regional LARO clinics in Helsingborg and are looking for nursing assistants who want to help develop LARO care, both at existing clinics and the new ones to be established, in collaboration with process leaders and unit managers.

The LARO clinics have a mission that includes comprehensive medical responsibility for patients with long-term opioid dependence. We offer medical treatment, talk therapy, care and treatment planning, psychological testing and assessments, as well as basic somatic care related to substance abuse, harmful use, and dependency issues. The goal of LARO is to prevent relapse, improve social functioning, and reduce medical complications, transmission of infections, and mortality. Treatment is individually tailored based on the patient's needs and with respect for their autonomy and integrity.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for two nursing assistants for our two LARO clinics. As a nursing assistant with us, you will be an important part of a multidisciplinary team where you work closely with several different professional categories. The positions are tied to their respective clinics, and you will be the only nursing assistant at the clinic, but you will work closely with other colleagues.

In your role, you will work closely with patients and participate in the work and routines surrounding conversations and support for the patients. You will have primary responsibility for drug testing. It is also the nursing assistants who play a significant role in the daily work at the clinic. Each day begins with structuring the tasks for the day during a team meeting.

All staff members in the unit have a significant responsibility to develop and improve care in collaboration with the area's management. Some weekend work will occur.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for you who are a trained nursing assistant or specialist nursing assistant in psychiatry. This means that you have a recognized high school education in health and care (2500 points), a recognized health and care education through Komvux (minimum 1350 points), or another equivalent nursing assistant education. Since the work largely involves communication and documentation, good language skills in Swedish, both spoken and written, are required. You also master basic medical technical procedures at the nursing assistant level.

Applicants who currently hold a permanent position with the job title caregiver can apply and will retain their job title upon possible employment (but no later than 2033, when the title caregiver will cease within our operations).

We prefer that you have experience working as a caregiver and/or nursing assistant. It is an advantage if you have experience working in psychiatry or with patients with mental health issues. Experience in addiction care and/or a genuine interest in working with our target group is a plus. Additionally, good computer skills and basic knowledge of our journal system Melior are beneficial.

You have a genuine interest in psychiatric care and always put the patient in focus. Furthermore, you have good prioritization skills and contribute to a good working environment. For the role, it is important to maintain calm and have a low-arousal approach in stressful situations, so we are looking for someone who is secure and stable as a person. With a strong sense of service and responsibility, as well as good collaboration skills, you approach the situation that the patient and their relatives are facing with humility. Additionally, you enjoy mentoring students and feel secure in that role. We are keen to find the right people and therefore place great importance on personal suitability.

Attach your nursing assistant certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare if you have received it or your diploma with your application. If you have not yet received the certificate, you will be given the title of care assistant in the meantime. If you were permanently employed as a nursing assistant on July 1, 2023, or if you wish to retain the job title caregiver and were employed as such before November 1, 2023, please submit a certificate that verifies this.
