Make a Difference. Every Day.
Are you a nurse interested in cardiology? Are you looking for a varied job where you become part of a team with competent and dedicated colleagues? Then the cardiology department is right for you!
- The heart! One of the body's most vital and exciting organs according to us. Being part of a great heart team has always been our wish, say nurses Hannah and Madeleine who work together in the cardiology department in Kristianstad.
The cardiology department is a care unit with 21 beds that diagnoses and treats patients with cardiovascular diseases. The unit also treats patients with general medical conditions. We also have a day care unit where we care for patients who previously required inpatient care. Patients are cared for during the day and can, in most cases, go home the same day. The care unit also has a close collaboration with the cardiac intensive care unit (HIA).
Our workplace is characterized by high competence, a good atmosphere, and friendly colleagues. We respect each other and see everyone’s competence as equally important. The team around the patients consists of doctors, nurses, nursing assistants, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, medical secretaries, social workers, and dietitians. We work person-centered where the patient will meet the various professional categories needed for optimal care and treatment. With us, you will gain broad competence within your specialty.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking forward to welcoming a new nurse to our wonderful team!
In the role of nurse with us, you will be offered a varied job, where you will be an important person in both the basic and specific care of the patient. Your responsibilities with us include, among other things, the perioperative care of patients who are about to undergo or have undergone coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). You will also prepare patients for pacemaker operations and angiography and assist in electrical cardioversion.
In the department, we see development as a natural part of the work, including by offering annual training days and refining and developing collaboration methods between professions in workgroups. Here you will learn, among other things, arrhythmia interpretation as many of our patients have heart monitoring. We have an educational nurse in the department who regularly conducts training and organizes other competency development initiatives to ensure continuous development and high competence in the workgroup. In the past year, our nurses have had the opportunity to conduct simulation exercises on essential parts of the care process and participate in lectures on cardiac care from our cardiologists, which has been highly appreciated. We also have daily reflections with other colleagues in the team after the shift.
In the day care unit, we provide treatments that do not require inpatient care. Patients come here for intravenous treatments, electrical cardioversion, and preparation for pacemaker insertion that takes place in surgery.
Whether you are newly graduated or have previous experience in the profession, we value that you get a safe start in your new employment with us. When you start here, our educational nurse will set up an introduction plan together with you based on your previous experiences and needs and will follow you during your first time in the department.
