The Hospital in Ystad is an emergency hospital with a wide range of specialized care. The hospital has a family-like atmosphere and good opportunities for participation. IPV in Ystad has three intensive care beds, two intermediate care beds, and postoperative care beds staffed around the clock. The recovery department has ten monitoring places during the day, where both children and adults are cared for.

Our intensive care is focused on general intensive care, and we offer, among other things, prism treatment in a high-tech environment. We perform surgeries in general surgery, gynecology, urology, orthopedics, and ear, nose, and throat surgery. As an intensive care nurse, you participate in the hospital's alarm chain and are part of the mobile intensive care group (MIG).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of intensive care nurse in the specialist phase, you will work with advanced and highly specialized nursing of patients in need of intensive and postoperative care. You are responsible for the patient's nursing, monitoring, and treatment in close collaboration with doctors and other professionals in the interdisciplinary team.

According to the Competence and Service Model (KTM), the specialist phase means that you have a deep holistic view in your profession and can independently manage, analyze, and prioritize in complex care situations in clinical, patient-centered work. You have a high clinical competence and a well-grounded experience-based knowledge in intensive care.

In addition to working with regular clinical tasks, you will work with the following responsibilities; operationally responsible specialist nurse. This means that you have advanced knowledge regarding the management responsibility in the department by leading, prioritizing, replacing sick leave, and allocating resources regardless of the time of day. You have close collaboration and dialogue with the operationally responsible doctor.

The assignment includes an extended professional responsibility where you are a role model in nursing work and serve as a support for colleagues by contributing your experience and competence. You contribute to structure, quality, and stability in the daily operations and collaborate closely with the responsible doctor in patient-centered work.

You are expected to be able to act in changed conditions, such as high workload or other challenging situations, and contribute to maintaining safe and effective care. Furthermore, you actively participate in the development of patient-centered care, supervise students and new colleagues, and contribute to knowledge dissemination in the workgroup in accordance with the specialist phase's mission.

QUALIFICATIONS

We welcome you who are a licensed nurse with specialist education in intensive care and the authority to operate within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale are a requirement.

For the position, several years of clinical experience in intensive care is required, as well as meeting the competence requirements for the specialist phase according to the Competence and Service Model at IPV in Ystad, or meeting equivalent requirements that can be validated against the model.

It is an advantage if you have experience of management responsibility in clinical practice or have completed advanced training relevant to intensive care.

You have good collaboration skills, are solution-focused, and contribute to a good work environment through a respectful and collegial approach. You have the ability to handle complex and sometimes pressured situations with maintained calm and judgment. Great emphasis is placed on personal suitability.
