Description

We are now looking for a substitute preschool teacher who wants to be part of offering the children at Klosterängen Preschool a joyful, meaningful, and educational time in preschool.

Klosterängen Preschool is located in central Lödöse. The preschool consists of five departments spread across two buildings connected by a large shared yard. In the surrounding area, there are both forests and the Lödöse Museum. We work with continuous development and currently have a special focus on children's early language development, providing stimulating learning environments that encourage play, exploration, and learning in interaction with others, and increasing the quality of teaching.

The educators' mission is to be curious about what the children show and tell, and to use what the children express to challenge them further based on the goals of the curriculum. It is about taking advantage of the diversity of ideas among the children and making them visible to the children themselves and to the group. We create and capture situations that challenge the children's thoughts through, for example, what, how, and why questions.

We invest in professional development to maintain an updated quality and shared vision in our preschools. Within the Education sector, we work to create conditions for a sharing culture among our preschools. We offer our educators, AAC, pedagogical cafés, and mentorship for newly educated preschool teachers.

In Lilla Edet, we see meals as an important part of the educational work with the children, which is why we offer free educational lunches.

As pedagogical support, we have two development pedagogues who have an enhanced mission to lead the pedagogical development at the preschool, special educators who work closely with the work teams and are a support in developing and creating good conditions for all children to learn and develop.

The preschool should contribute to continuity and progression in children's development and learning and prepare for continued education, with great emphasis placed on stimulating children's language development in Swedish, by encouraging and taking advantage of their curiosity and interest in communicating in various ways.

The Education sector is tasked with offering stimulating learning environments in our preschools where children have the opportunity to develop their language by listening to read-alouds and discussing literature and other texts. The education in our preschools should provide children with the conditions to think, learn, and communicate in different contexts and for various purposes. This lays the foundation for children to acquire the knowledge that everyone in society needs in the long run.

Responsibilities

As a preschool teacher, you are expected to lead the work together with your colleagues, systematically plan, implement, analyze, and evaluate the pedagogical work at the preschool. In our work with the children, we place great emphasis on value-based work and that each child should be given good conditions to develop into their best self.

You will work with pedagogical documentation and use it as a basis for reflection, discussion, and development, and you can take advantage of the children's interests and needs in the operations. As a digital learning platform, we use Unikum. You are expected to have a good understanding of working from and realizing the governing documents that apply to preschools.

You will be part of a work team of 4 educators organized into smaller groups with the preschool's 5-year-olds.

Qualifications

We are looking for you who are a licensed preschool teacher. You are engaged and courageous in your professional role. Since we work with a trust-based leadership, we prefer that you want and dare to work independently. Together with your colleagues, you take your own initiatives with the mission in focus.

To succeed in the assignment, you find it enjoyable to develop the pedagogical leadership. Through your leadership, you inspire the children's group and your colleagues to dare to think anew and develop the operations together. We see it as a given that you are a co-participating educator in the children's joyful learning. You are positive and believe that collaboration and a holistic view are important for the children's and preschool's development. Previous experience working in preschool class is considered an advantage.
