About the Workplace

The mission of the rehabilitation unit is directed towards individuals enrolled in municipal primary care in ordinary housing, special housing, housing with special services, short-term units, and daily activities.

We have a close collaboration with nurses, case managers, home care, and residential staff.

One of our occupational therapists is moving on to new challenges, and another is currently on parental leave. Therefore, we are now looking for two occupational therapists – one for a permanent position and one for a temporary position. You will be part of a wonderful, dedicated, and secure workgroup.

We are located at Ale Senior Center in Älvängen, 20 minutes by commuter train from the central station in Gothenburg.

Job Responsibilities

As an occupational therapist in Ale, you will plan your workday in close collaboration with the team and have influence over your working hours. You will work closely with physiotherapists and be part of a team with nurses and nursing assistants.

You will work with assessment, treatment, testing, and prescribing aids, delegation, and guidance towards care staff. You will also assess and write certificates for housing adaptations. The work includes transfer training for care staff and supervision of students.

In addition to person-centered care, you and your colleagues, together with the manager, are responsible for developing the operations. Each person has an individual development plan where we together find the right competence development based on the needs of the operations and your wishes.

Qualifications

You are a licensed occupational therapist or graduating as an occupational therapist this summer with the eligibility to work within the Swedish healthcare system and hold a B driver's license.

Experience as an occupational therapist in municipal primary care is an advantage. Experience and knowledge in active transfers and transfers with patient lifts are also advantageous.

You are accustomed to working with IT-based journal systems and have the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both orally and in writing.

Our team-based working method requires that you are flexible, take responsibility for your tasks, collaborate well with colleagues, and are secure in your professional role. You also need to have a good ability to independently structure and organize your tasks.
