Description

As a mechanic, you will be responsible for planning service and maintenance for our three diamond drilling rigs underground, as well as inventory of spare parts and equipment.

The main task of the position is to minimize downtime and production loss for the mine's diamond drilling. The work as a mechanic largely consists of preventive maintenance and places high demands on independent work.

You will be part of a team consisting of 12 diamond drillers who all work towards common goals and routines. Diamond drilling is one of the first steps in the entire mining process and an important part of knowing where and how we should extract the rock.

Responsibilities

• Plan repairs, service, and maintenance on the department's diamond drilling rigs to minimize downtime and production loss.
• Maintain inventory of spare parts and equipment for rigs and core drilling.
• Repair and maintain drilling equipment.
• Order spare parts and equipment for the operations.

Qualifications

• Mechanic with good knowledge of hydraulics and control systems.
• Good knowledge in inventory management and purchasing.
• Experience in workshop work such as welding and manufacturing.
• To succeed in this role, you need an understanding of machines, and therefore we prefer applicants with machine experience.
• Driver's license B is a requirement.

Desirable

• Knowledge of diamond drilling and its equipment as well as field mechanic experience.
• Experience in underground work.
