About the Position

In department 61, we primarily care for patients undergoing surgery with a focus on diseases of the lower gastrointestinal tract, such as diverticulitis, inflammatory bowel diseases, and colorectal cancer.

As a nursing assistant, your tasks will include basic care, examining and documenting vital signs, venipuncture, catheter insertion, and wound dressing changes. With us, you will have a varied job where you can develop in your nursing assistant role.

Job Description

The work as a nursing assistant is varied and involves qualified care of patients. In the ward, we work together in teams where nursing assistants, nurses, doctors, and paramedics collaborate with the patient. We are looking for someone who is attentive to others' needs and has good communication skills.

Qualifications

Trained nursing assistant through the upper secondary school Health and Care program (three years, 2500 points), the Health and Care program at Komvux (three semesters, minimum 1350 points), or equivalent nursing assistant education. You need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare, or alternatively be covered by transitional provisions for nursing assistants, to be employed with the title nursing assistant. Otherwise, you may be employed in the category of healthcare assistant.

We are looking for someone who has the patient in focus, takes great responsibility for their own work, and wants to develop patient care. You have strong commitment, see opportunities, and want to continue developing in your role as a nursing assistant. About the Department

The Surgical and Urology department conducts both emergency and elective surgery and urology, as well as operational activities in outpatient and inpatient care around the clock. We treat and care for patients primarily from Stockholm County, but also from outside the county and foreign patients with surgical or urological diseases. Patients are cared for in several different specialist clinics, two operating rooms, and four wards with different profile areas; colorectal surgery, upper gastrointestinal surgery, bariatric surgery, liver tumors, and urology. About 460 employees work here.
