The Foster Care Unit is part of the Children and Youth department within the Social Services in Järfälla. We are a group of dedicated foster care secretaries and child caseworkers, several with more than 15 years of experience in social work within the field of children and youth. Based on our different roles, we work side by side with everything related to children and youth placed in foster care, contact activities, and EKB. We are a well-functioning workgroup, with a pleasant and good working climate. We have close cooperation with our colleagues within the department and have access to a large internal open care.

We are currently in an exciting development project together with our internal open care. The goal of this is to increase the conditions for sustainable placements by providing our foster homes and children with extended support. This support includes, among other things, interaction treatment when the child is first placed in their new foster home and crisis support as needed.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We work based on clearly defined roles within the assignment as a foster care secretary. You will primarily work with supervising existing foster homes and investigating potential foster homes in collaboration with a recruiting foster care secretary. You will have close cooperation with your foster care secretary colleagues, child caseworkers, and social workers in other units, and you will receive close supervision from your group leader.

Within the unit, we also have our placement coordinator, who handles all tasks regarding searches and procurements of external providers. The placement coordinator is our expert in quickly finding emergency homes and knows everything about our framework agreements.

The operational system for case management and documentation is LifeCare, and all case management is conducted based on BBiC. We use the investigation method A Lasting Relationship in all foster care investigations.

QUALIFICATIONS

Formally, we want you to have a degree in social work and preferably a few years of experience in the social services field of children and/or youth. It is an advantage if you have previously worked as a foster care secretary or child caseworker within foster care. A driver's license is a requirement.

If you have experience with A Lasting Relationship, Signs of Safety, and MI and appreciate working according to these models, we see it as a strength.

You have a good ability to communicate verbally and in writing and can adapt your communication based on what the situation requires. You are structured, stable, and have the ability to understand other people's perspectives or situations without taking over their feelings. You value collaboration and understand the authority role. You are proactive and engaged in your work.
