Summer Job as a Social Welfare Officer
We are now looking for engaged summer workers who want to gain practical experience in social welfare case management and relevant work experience for their CV! With us, you will have the opportunity to work with individualized interventions that create security and meaning in the daily lives of our clients. Together, we build a strong team where collaboration and commitment make a difference.
Your Responsibilities
At the Unit for Care Planning and Follow-up, your focus will be to support individuals upon discharge from the hospital, in close collaboration with relatives, hospital staff, and home care providers. At the Unit for the Elderly, you will work with individuals living at home or in special accommodations. Here, you will collaborate broadly with home care services to ensure that interventions are carried out according to decisions.
As a social welfare officer, you will be responsible for assessing, deciding on, and following up on interventions according to the Social Services Act (SoL), with the individual's needs at the center. You will do this by assessing needs through conversations with the individual, gathering other relevant information for evaluation, and documenting. As a case officer, you have a genuine interest in the target group and take pride in your profession. It is important that you appreciate collaborating with others and working across boundaries. You support where there is a need and see collaboration as the key to success. We always strive for the best quality, ensuring that our work is legally secure and that the individual feels involved in the decisions we make.
Your Qualifications
We are looking for someone studying to become a social worker or another relevant academic education combined with training in social law. If you have experience in care planning and authority exercise according to SoL, we consider it very positive. We work in the documentation system Pulsen Combine, so if you have experience with it or similar systems, it is an advantage. Since some visits and thus travel are included in the position, it is a merit if you have a B driver's license for a manual transmission car.
To thrive in the role, it is important that you are brave, flexible, and comfortable working at a fast pace. We would like you to be used to handling rapid processes and to enjoy working on multiple cases simultaneously. In the assignment, it is important to be able to quickly adapt and plan according to what the situation requires.
We Offer
With us, you will have a meaningful and developing role where you become part of an engaged team working to make a difference. We take pride in our work and always strive to create the best conditions for our employees. We apply a trust-based leadership style and see participation as a given. Here, we welcome new ideas and perspectives and always strive to improve our processes.
We offer a solid introduction, continuous guidance, and support from experienced colleagues and team leaders. We work based on the value foundation of Always the Best Possible Meeting and have a solution-focused approach that permeates our work.
Here, you will be part of something bigger! With warmth and respect, we show initiative in both big and small matters. We live our value foundation in our interactions with each other and those we serve. Every day, all year round, we ensure that Västerås functions. Together with your approximately 11,500 colleagues throughout the city, you will have Sweden's most important job.
