Make a difference. Every day.

The habilitation service is here to make life more possible for individuals with permanent disabilities and their relatives. The disability may be due to mobility impairment, intellectual disability, and/or autism. The habilitation reception unit 1 is divided into two teams; one team focused on children (0-10 years) and one team focused on youth (10-17 years). This temporary position is aimed at the children's team. We work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of medical, psychosocial, and educational expertise. Together with children, parents, and networks, we create the child's plan and provide services to the child and family based on this plan. The unit has a special responsibility for patients with spina bifida.

We who work within the organization have an important and challenging mission, which is to strengthen the individual's power and freedom to shape their life. With great commitment and broad expertise, we work every day to get closer to our vision that individuals with disabilities should be able to live a good life based on their own choices.

Our workplace values participation for children and their families! We have the drive and a high ambition to continue developing our working methods, processes, and employees. We have a salutogenic approach, which means that everything we do should be meaningful, comprehensible, and manageable.

We are a knowledge organization that provides tools to develop strengths and remove barriers while promoting communication. We create conditions for dialogue from the child's perspective. It is important to us that you share Region Skåne's values.

With us at the Habilitation Reception for Children and Youth 1 in Malmö, you will have the opportunity to work in a stimulating workplace with high competence and a good conversational climate. Within the unit, we have a good team spirit and support each other. We now welcome an occupational therapist colleague to become part of our team. Four occupational therapists work in our unit.

In your role as an occupational therapist, you will increase the ability to participate based on the individual needs by analyzing and providing advice and support regarding daily activities. A significant part of the work involves guiding children/youth and their networks to create change in the child's/youth's everyday life. You provide individual interventions as needed and according to the plan made in consultation with the family, the child/youth, and the rest of the habilitation team. Assessing the need for, prescribing, and testing technical aids, as well as participating in housing adaptations, also constitutes a large part of the work. The work is outward-facing and involves collaboration with other services such as preschool/school, children's clinics, assistive technology services, orthopedic technology services, social services, and more. In addition to direct patient work, administrative tasks such as booking patients and managing records are included. Your tasks also include structuring and organizing the work independently and together with the rest of the team.

Your working hours are scheduled for weekdays during the day:
Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays: 08.00-16.30.
Tuesdays: 08.00-18.30.
Fridays: 08.00-14.30.

Upon employment, you will receive an introduction and guidance from an experienced occupational therapist colleague who will support you during your initial time with us.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a person, you find it easy to collaborate and establish contact with children and youth. Furthermore, you believe, just like us, that it is important for children and youth to be heard and for their views to be considered and taken into account. You possess great independence, flexibility, and the ability to handle situations when the pace is sometimes high. Additionally, you have a good ability to organize and structure the work. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability for the position.

An extract from the suspicion and criminal record will be made before any employment.
