We are now looking for a strategic buyer to join our team for non-metallic components and chemicals, a broad and exciting procurement area that includes everything from processed and injection-molded plastics, packaging and composites to chemicals and other materials used in our products and processes. The role is based at Saab in Karlskoga, where you will be part of a competent and dedicated procurement team.

Your Role

As a strategic buyer, you will play a central role in building and developing a wide network, both internally within Saab and externally with our suppliers. You will be an important part of ensuring competitiveness, sustainability, and cost-effectiveness in our supplier base.

In this role, you will among other things:

• Be responsible for your own supplier base and continuously develop it.
• Develop and implement strategies for suppliers.
• Negotiate, manage, and further develop supplier agreements.
• Support business unit projects and programs with commercial expertise.
• Lead cross-functional teams focused on efficiency and cost savings.
• Issue RFQs, evaluate bids, and negotiate prices and terms.
• Ensure compliance with Saab's procurement strategy, policies, and procedures.

Your Profile

To succeed in this role, you are a business-driven and relationship-building person who thrives in a strategic and negotiation-intensive environment. You have the ability to build trust, both internally and externally, and feel confident in driving dialogues and negotiations at various levels. At the same time, you are analytical and structured, with a holistic perspective that allows you to make well-founded and long-term decisions.

We prefer that you have several years of experience in strategic purchasing or qualified procurement work, where you have worked with supplier development, contract negotiations, and business strategic issues. You may have a higher education in fields such as engineering or economics, but it is your experience, business understanding, and documented results in procurement that are crucial for us.

Since the role involves many points of contact, both nationally and internationally, you need to be proficient in Swedish and English, both spoken and written.

The position requires you to undergo and be approved according to the applicable regulations for security protection. For positions where Saab has requirements for security classification, this may involve requirements for certain citizenship.
