Several ongoing development projects and advanced customer dialogues mean that the purchasing department at BAE Systems Bofors continues to grow.

The department works with category-driven purchasing where strategic, tactical, and operational buyers and supply chain managers work closely together within the given category to achieve short- and long-term goals with the supplier. The categories are mechanics, ammunition, and systems/electronics. We are growing further and are therefore looking for an experienced strategic buyer in the area of Ammunition.

Responsibilities and Tasks

As a strategic buyer, you will work with suppliers who manufacture details, components, and systems based on BAE Systems Bofors' own specifications and documentation. A large part of the work is centered on developing the current supply chain to increase capacity for upcoming customer needs.

Your daily tasks include, among other things:

• Compiling request for proposal documents.
• Managing complex procurements.
• Overall management of assigned purchasing categories.
• Representing purchasing in various projects and actively contributing to the development of the purchasing function.
• Developing category strategies and then working out supplier strategies.
• Based on supplier strategies, creating purchasing plans/projects to secure capacity with selected suppliers.
• Negotiating and concluding written framework agreements including price lists and/or pricing models based on given supplier strategies to achieve short- and long-term savings goals.
• Working systematically with your suppliers to achieve set goals.
• Working with sourcing and evaluating new potential suppliers.
• Forming industrial arrangements that support the company's overall business, which may involve commitments in other countries.

Qualifications

A university degree, preferably with a technical or economic focus, supplemented with courses in purchasing and/or law, or equivalent experience. Furthermore, you have several years of solid experience in strategic purchasing, preferably within manufacturing companies. Good negotiation skills. Good knowledge of both Swedish and the corporate language English, in both spoken and written form. A valid driver's license is required as you will occasionally travel. You should also have previous experience in driving projects and business development as this is part of the work. Knowledge of FAR/DFAR is an advantage. Experience in purchasing in the area of ammunition is an advantage.
