Diabetes Nurse at the Diabetes Clinic

The Medicine Clinic is part of Internal Medicine, which is included in the Area of Medical Specialties.

Here, outpatient and day care activities are conducted within our medical specialty areas, such as lung and allergy, diabetes, endocrinology, neurology, hematology, and gastroenterology. We work in interdisciplinary teams to provide patients with the best possible care.

Job Description

At the Diabetes Clinic, we conduct outpatient and course activities for patients with Type 1 Diabetes. As a diabetes nurse, your responsibilities include running your own nursing clinic, meeting patients physically or via video, teaching about diabetes and diabetes aids, as well as providing telephone advice, scheduling appointments, and managing cases through Alltid öppet. Many of our patients use insulin pumps or will start using them, and you will meet them both individually and in groups for education and support in their treatment.

We collaborate extensively in teams around the patients with professionals such as nurses, nursing assistants, foot therapists, dietitians, social workers, and doctors. The clinic's activities play a crucial role for the clinic's patients. Our goal is to make their care journey smooth by providing the right support at the right time. Our patients are followed over a longer period, and both they and their relatives need support and information. The working hours are scheduled during weekdays.

Qualifications

Competence Requirements

• Licensed nurse
• Specialist training in diabetes, or at least 15 credits in diabetes care.
• Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1

Meritorious

• Experience in outpatient work
• Experience and knowledge of technical diabetes aids.
