The Department of Internal Medicine at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) in Malmö is in an exciting phase of development and expansion. We are growing both in mission and ambition and are therefore looking for three specialists in internal medicine who want to help shape the future of internal medical care with us.

The department is a large and dynamic operation characterized by innovation, engagement, and a strong focus on development. This includes Hospital at Home, intermediate care (IMA), and Sweden's largest Diagnostic Center. Additionally, we are responsible for over 130 inpatient care beds across eight wards, as well as day care, outpatient services, and consultation activities in both Malmö and Lund.

Care is provided with a generalist and patient-centered approach, in close collaboration with acute care, intensive care, and other adjacent specialties. The department plays a central role in the hospital, and through strategic work with Wise Clinical Choices, generalism, and patient-centered care, we drive the development of modern internal medicine.

Within the area of operation, there is also an active research environment linked to major public diseases, which provides good opportunities for academic development for those who wish. We place great value on seeing the whole patient and fostering good collaboration across traditional specialty boundaries.

RESPONSIBILITIES

We are looking for three specialists for the internal medicine department in Malmö.

As a specialist with us, you will work broadly within the field of internal medicine, from intermediate care in an intensive care-near environment to treatment and follow-up in outpatient care. Through initiatives like Hospital at Home and day care, you will help develop and challenge traditional forms of care.

The breadth of the assignment provides good opportunities for profiling based on interest and competence, while always maintaining a holistic internal medicine perspective. Wise Clinical Choices and patient-centered care permeate the work.

You will be an important part of the team and actively participate in the department's development and improvement work. Supervision and education are important aspects of the role, and you are expected to contribute to the training of medical students, residents, and other professional groups.

The position also includes on-call duties in our shared on-call lines, such as house call, back call, and Hospital at Home.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed physician with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare and have:

• Specialist competence in internal medicine
• Good knowledge of Swedish, corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's level scale
• Clinical skill and independence in internal medicine
• Interest in supervision, education, and operational development
• Documented teaching and supervision merits

We consider experience in development work, education, research, leadership roles, and patient safety work as meritorious. Competence in intermediate care, Point of Care Ultrasound, and experience working in mobile teams are also meritorious.

We are looking for someone who is attentive, engaged, and enjoys working in a team. A development-oriented and patient-centered approach is something we place great importance on, as well as personal suitability.

At a university hospital unit, it is required that physicians have pedagogical experience and education. This can be acquired through supervision of, for example, nursing and medical students as well as physicians in training and as co- or main supervisors of doctoral candidates. Clearly describe in your application any completed or planned pedagogical courses, experience in supervision, and teaching at various levels.
