About the Job

Are you interested in coordination, governance, and development, and do you want to help shape a new function in the Swedish Transport Agency's department for Common Functions?

The Common Functions department was established on April 1, 2025, and gathers the agency's enabling functions within finance, analysis, procurement, premises, customer service, communication, human resources, and development.

Together, we strengthen the conditions to understand, implement, and meet the operational needs for support, governance, coordination, and development. In collaboration, with professionalism and innovation, we solve our assignments for the best of the organization.

The department consists of approximately 150 employees distributed across five units.

We are looking for a departmental controller for Common Functions who, together with the department's management team, will drive and coordinate the work with our strategic planning to contribute to the department's progress and transition towards our vision. Your responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and following up on the department's finances and operations from a holistic perspective. You will also serve as a support for the department's managers and employees.

You Will

  • drive and coordinate the work with the department's operational plan, budget, follow-up, and forecasts
  • prepare materials for financial statements - accounting and analysis
  • prepare materials for quarterly reports - text and analysis
  • be responsible for the department's section in the annual report
  • develop and refine relevant goals, metrics, and measurements
  • coordinate the department's work with internal governance and control.

As a controller with us, you will have close collaboration with other controllers in the agency to create an efficient and collaborative work environment. You will participate in cross-agency working groups and networks and collaborate with other functions within our department and with similar assignments within the agency.

You Must Have

  • a university degree in finance or another relevant field
  • current multi-year experience working with qualified financial tasks within planning, follow-up, and/or governance
  • current experience in operational development and/or process work
  • experience in leading and coordinating issues at a strategic level
  • experience in forecasting and analysis
  • good ability to express yourself well in both spoken and written Swedish.

It Is Meritorious If You Also Have

  • worked as a controller in a qualified organization
  • worked in business systems, such as UBW (formerly Agresso).

More Information

The position is permanent with placement at one of the agency's operational locations: Norrköping or Örebro. Start date by agreement.

As an employee with us, there is the possibility to work remotely up to three days a week. The needs of the organization and the nature of the tasks will determine whether and to what extent this is possible.

Employment with us may involve placement in a security class. A security clearance with a background check according to the Security Protection Act (2018:585) may therefore be conducted before a hiring decision is made. For some of our tasks in security class, Swedish citizenship is required.
