The Company
Nordic Export Groups Oy (Nordic Groups) offers internationalization services as well as expert assistance in sales and marketing for small and medium-sized enterprises in various business areas and industries, especially within the food industry and goods distribution in the Nordics, primarily in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Nordic Groups mainly helps Finnish companies establish themselves in Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. The focus of their assignments lies in direct sales and marketing efforts by "opening new doors" for their clients. Among the company's larger clients are ICA, COOP, Axfood, Lidl, etc., as well as distribution companies within other food, restaurant, and catering sectors. They also receive many inquiries in new sectors such as IT and digitalization systems for the food industry and other related areas.
The Position
The purpose of the position is to help companies find ways to internationalize and start exporting or to develop already existing exports. Typical tasks and results: Nordic Export Group has carried out assignments for several Finnish companies by conducting market and competitor analyses, finding various types of customers, partners (e.g., agents, distributors, and other personnel), and building distribution channels for their products. Additionally, Nordic Groups creates customer relationships and facilitates business for many of the companies they represent.
Job Responsibilities
As a business developer for grocery chains and the food industry, you will work both to help existing clients increase their sales and contact points, as well as to find and initiate new business with new customers throughout the Nordics. You will do this by conducting market and competitor analyses, finding various types of partners (e.g., agents, distributors, and other personnel), and building distribution channels for their products. You will create customer relationships and facilitate business for the companies that Nordic Groups represents. You will be responsible for the clients assigned to you, and since you will be working across the Nordics, this will require a fair amount of travel. Furthermore, in this role, you will attend trade fairs and accompany resellers on joint visits to the customers you have created. You will own the entire sales process from lead/incoming lead to closure and reporting.
Education, Experience, and Personal Qualities
- At least 3 years of experience in commercial sales of products within B2B
- Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Strong technical interest and drive
- Knowledge of German is an advantage
- Previous sales experience in: food and restaurant industry, goods distribution, etc. is a plus.
